    B2K Stock Reg Seat

    Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had a source for reg seats for the stock B2K reg? Vaporworks appears to be out of stock and ICD doesn't even list them anymore, so I'm struggling to find somewhere else that may have them.

    Thanks!

Last I heard, Vaporworks was working on a source for new ones. They have been kinda tricky to find for several years now.

Unfortunately the guy who made the last good batch of them passed away somewhat recently.

I would not expect it to happen soon.

Do you currently have the factory semitransparent urethane seals in the marker, or the later repair batch of solid yellow ones?

I've had some great success gently sanding out defects and scratches from the solid yellow ones. The factory semitransparent ones are usually too dry rotted at this point though.

I don't know which version I have off the top of my head, but the reg is feeding the full 800 psi tank pressure. I rebuilt it, so the only thing I can think of is the seat has completely gone out

Those stock HPRs are...."not great" in the first place. See if you can get us pictures of the seat. A lot of the times the pistons stick in ICD regs so the piston might just be stuck.

Myrkul here's the internals and both sides of the seat. It still has some give when I squeeze it between my fingers.

That actually looks pretty okay to me. You have a 90 durometer on the delrin piston right? They can be picky about urethane vs Buna in that location. It HAS to be 90 durometer though.

How does the cup look? Any dings, niches or scratches?

Myrkul no I didn't. I used a 70 duro because that's all I had in 011. They generally don't have 90 duros at the hardware store near me, so I'll have to order a pack.

The brass cup looks fine to me. Here's a closeup

    Really appreciate the help btw!

Too much grease on it for me to be able to see. Might not be a bad idea to stick a q-tip in flitz and then toss that in a drill chuck to polish it up a bit. There can be ZERO imperfections in that cup or it won't seal.

Myrkul sounds good. I'll hit it with some Mother's and a q-tip. It appears to be in good condition. The reg was leaking when I bought from my friend but didn't say anything about it spiking. I probably just used the wrong oring when I rebuilt it, like you were saying.

Maybe.....to be 100% honest I have like 15+ ICD markers and not a single one of them is still running the Stock HPR. Litteraly not a single one. Occasionally I'll modify the stock LPRs and run those since they can be made to work at an acceptable level, but the HPRs....not so much. At one point I heard a rumor that the HPRs were designed around a 500 PSI output tank and pretty much only work with that, but I haven't bothered with the HPRs enough to really investigate it further since aftermarket HPRs are pretty easily available. Based on your photos, it looks like a later year B2k, possibly a B2k2, B2k3, or B2k4. You shouldn't have the issue of tracking down a reg adapter since those come with standard tank threads on the input for the vert ASA, so you can just plug and play just about any HPR. Honestly I'd just scoop up a dye Hyper 2 in silver off eBay and move forward from there. Those are still rebuildable and relatively affordable with solid performance.

Myrkul I would normally just go ahead and throw a new reg on it, but I'm honestly probably going to sell it. I'd love to keep it but I need the money for other things. The reg is the only thing having issues and I'd love to get it sorted out before listing it.

I don't know which model of B2K it is, but here's photos

I think it's a 2k3 based off the lack of eyes and the #11 "o" ring on the reg piston. The a lot of the 04s came with PDS (Eyes) and they used an updated reg design that used a #015 "o" ring on the HPR piston.

While you are ordering "o" rings, the manifold "o" rings also need to be 90 durometer in most of these to get a reliable seal, and the #010 "o" ring detents really need 90s to work well too. Especially with modern paint. You can cut a sliver of macroline to firm up the detent "o" rings if you don't have 90 durometer #010s. On my personal markers that use this detent style I take it a step further and use one 90 Durometer Urethane "o" ring and one 55D durometer Teflon detent. The extra stiffness from the Teflon lets these handle tiny modern field paint considerably better.

    Myrkul thanks for the info!

The marker was already rebuilt by my buddy before I bought it. He thought he did the reg wrong since it was leaking, but it had a macroline leak and I'm wondering if he confused it for the reg.

Myrkul I replaced the reg piston o-ring with a 90 duro, and it fixed it. Thanks for the help!
