Well, umm, here is a long overdue update on my spump project that kind of started this thread... today, I slotted the hammer!
I took it to work with me, and used the belt sander to rough in the cut... get me past the heat treatment... then casually finished in the shape with a big file. Took it home on my lunch break to test fit what I had so far at that point. Nailed it on my first try, too!
I chose to leave the full diameter portion at the front to stabilize the hammer from tilting in its tube... this choice became a constant worry, and I kept moving notch further and further forward to make sure there was room for the bolt pin in the closed position. It turned out to be a good thing, too... as my original notch would have been too short to allow full travel of the bolt.
Here are some pictures:

Yeah, I didn't have access to precise enough tooling to attempt a groove, so I sanded it flat... the hammer can twist to certain degree now, only really stabilized from rotating by the flat tip of thr sear riding against the flat bottom and the flat bottom of the bolt pin resting on the flat top... we will see, I guess.
I have, like, seventeen hammers sitting around, if this doesn't work... I will try again.

Yeah, it's good to be back... timidly dipping my toes in to test the water. My boys dragged me out from under the rock where I have been hiding, and pretty much forced me to go to Supergame... so I played Supergame with a freaking Tigershark, and caught the paintbull bug (again).
I chose to work on this Empire-themed spump, because it was easily accesible and I could work on it without spending money. I got a little out of control with my spending a few years ago, and really... REALLY... need to minimize my spending... laser focus on what matters most. I would rather be working on my Evil Omen pump project, but it requires I buy a decent pump kit... I guess I could drill the other hole in the Inferno frame for the front screw, which I will probably do next week... I will dig that out here in a minute, actually.
I would like to be shooting nothing but Evil markers as I get back into the sport (again)... and I plan on playing with a pump every opportunity I have to play. Evil never made a pump, but I have two Omens... and it's not rocket surgery to convert one to pump action (I have a build thread in the Evil section).
When I am ready to start spending real money on paintball again, I need to finish my Pimp... I already have a WAS board and a NDZ RIP valve and AKA Intimidator LPR/Volumizer for it... really just need to commit to finishing it. It's kind of a unicorn [for me], and I am afraid of messing it up, honestly.

Just tuned mine today. The "Sni-Con" a 32 Degrees Icon based pump. I did my hammer a bit different than everyone, I made a split pin, more on that in the build thread, link in my signature.
32 Degrees Icon Z
- Silver Slice kit
- Dye Hyper 2 reg
- Trilogy valve modded and PPS Dyna stem
- Detent fingers
- Freak barrel
- Printed Reverse feed Phantom block (can mount both ways)
- Stockclass Heroes CZ battle grip
Shooting 280fps at roughly 375 psi, heaviest valve spring and lightest hammer spring. I've even used this for a couple days of paintball already, it just works amazingly. I've pretty much decided now if it's open class, this is my go to.
I'm still not 100% done with the body, but when I am I'm having this anodized. Probably some kind of purple.1 Photo
