    Classic MacDev Cyborg Disassembly

    Just picked up this pretty minty MacDev Cyborg. I think it’s an ‘04 model. Serial number is 0612. I’ve never touched a MacDev marker before, so jumped at the chance to get it.

    Local pickup from a guy that hadn’t used it in a long time. Came with original case, which isn’t even dusty. Not used to getting gear in as good of condition!

    In early testing board lights up and solenoid clicks, always a good sign! But it doesn’t hold air, not surprising since it’s been sitting for a decade if not two!

    So, as is my usually thing, I’m going to try to disassemble and resurrect this old beast.

    first. Haven’t seen a non-yellowed pair of this in forever!

            Above, you can see the large gasket that sits between the body and the grip frame. And below you can see the body with internal air lines.

              Turning to the back of the marker, I removed the back cap cover to expose what I assuming is the ram housing.

                        Success! My trusty blow dryer pays off yet again. Used some hockey tape to prevent marking the LPR housing:
