Miltech G2 project (Kit appreciation thread)

Well, in typical MCB fashion I acquired this G2 without really having any interest in it. This was in a large local Craigslist lot. autococker04 wanted said lot so I scooped it up for him. While he was at my place picking it up we talked about this pistol and how it was kinda cool, but I'd never do anything with it.

We ended up negotiating this pistol for a pair of pb junkies pants I had squirreled away so he could give the pants to someone else.

This pistol sat for a while until I was cleaning my hoarder hole of a paintball room a few mo ths ago.

I recalled seeing Kit selling a warsensor pistol that he has freak xl bored.

I pmd kit about the potential of boring this pistol. Kit advised he is 2 for 4 in scrapping these while attempting to bore them. He said if I am willing to take the chance on getting a paper weight sent back to me, he would try it.

He is An extremely talented machinist, and was able to pull it off!

Now I had thought he was just going to bore it for normal freaks.

I had an ariakion tip I sent along. I think the threads are the same, but the shank is too long. i figured it may be workable.

Kit was successful in boring this beast. But he Said the tip I sent wouldnt work. He made a new tip from scratch. His tip has an awesome fit and finish to it.

Now. I was surprisingly excited for a stbb pistol when I got it back. Not paying attention, I put a normal freak insert in it, and attempted a shooting video.... I shot the video and shared it without even noticing.

The velocity was slow, but it some how shot... i assumed it needed a bolt o ring or a better drive spring, but I figured Id putz with it later.. Today I took it back apart to replace all of the lower tube seals including the 12g face Seal.

It was then when I realized that the freak insert didn't shoulder at the base of the tip, is fit inside of the tip.... son of a.. this is XL bored!!

I happened to have a deformed .684 xl insert that my buddy was going to scrap years ago as it was bent from factory. I pressed this bent one in for fun. I did pull it out once already so I know I can get it. But I'm not a fan of how stuck it is, and I am not a fan of the internal finish.

It's then I noticed Kit put a tiny bit of rifling on the shoulder of the barrel tip. Extremely nice touch on his part.

I'm working on sourcing a magazine, but maybe a cram jam is in order. More to come I'm sure.

I aired it up last night and it's held all day yet. I shot 5 or so at the dead elm tree just now, and it's definitely In working range of fps.

80F100 Not really. I need a magazine, less I play single shot with it. I bought a MCS pistol mag, and the mounting pins aren't the same. I thought I had a lead on a miltech mag, but no dice.
I've been trying to design a 3d printed adapter plate to make mcs mags work on this beast, but I am just eyeballing dimensions and editing the model. I'm at Rev 2 and it's still not right. Once I get the adapter usable I'd put the files up for others to print.

Man if I had more mags for the Zeus I would definitely spare one, but only have 2, and we all know how hard it's to scoop one up.
I'm a little scared about sending the body to get the barrel machined, it that fails.. I'll be running pistol less
