This was my second time ever using my n3 and the internal macro line blew out right after I aired it

What an odd design choice. It took more effort than trapping a simple metal tube with o-ring seals, and now you have this failure mode...Paintball Selection and Storage - How to make your niche paintball part idea.

I really wanted a nova when they were remade recently. After chatting with other ballers who invested in them, they weren't impressed with the quality at all. Seems like the markers were rushed out the doors with little QC and many flaws relating to breech alignment, anodizing quality, and overall poor craftsmanship. Sure there are plenty out there that you'll find folks without complaints, but I'm not taking the risk.

Yeah that's one reason I waited almost 6 months to get one. So far it's been fine but I have my Emek in case it goes south on me. I think that they had a big influx at launch and like you said the QC wasn't there. They keep talking about what they are coming up with next but I feel like they still don't have a handle on what's in the field. The tech support from them worries me too. They have some videos out there but there needs to be more than that. I know they are a small operation and I wish they would quit worrying about what's next and make sure that the ones already out there are good and well supported.
It's fun to shoot for sure. But so was an Evil Omen 1.0 when it worked. The 2.0's worked much better when they were released but it was already too late. The public opinion was they were junk and they were never going to overcome that. If Nova doesn't get a grip and do some better QC work, these things will be in the same category as the Omens, no matter what else they release.
Also, I have seen 2 N3's go for about half of what they sold for. Both of them had issues the user couldn't resolve. That's hard to resell when you don't know if they are going to help you get them fixed. That's one reason PE stuff sells for so much used. I know I can buy a first gen Ego through a CS3 today and get support. That is a big deal in the PB community. Dye has started to realize this too and is getting better. If you don't have good tech support on your products (new and used) it can literally kill your company and products.-------------

Not knowing a ton about these things, my thought would be that line acts like a fuse, it blows if pressure is too high so the rest of the marker doesnāt. Is the ASA also a regulator on these?

I see why someone might think that, but if that were the intent then Nova should have made it a "pressure relief valve," which many, many paintball guns have... as they simply re-seal when pressure is in the safe range again. What OP has shown is a design flaw. It's just curious as to why it exists... seems much easier to make it the tried and true way.Last edited by Siress; 07-13-2023, 10:08 PM.

That tubing is specifically used as a frangible relief hose , designed to blow in case someone over pressurizes the reg or you get trash in the lower and the reg fails.... Trapping a metal tube like other have done could be a problem in most guns if the 4500 psi tanks and the first stage rgs get over loaded..... After being on the road at every possible big game we can im seeing alot of dirty air from the fill station supply hpa... We always put safety reliefs in all our pneumatic devices ...As far as then qc issues and the anodize problem from the pre production run we have moved way past that and continue to evolve and still have a ton of new stuff were doing... Anodizing for production in the USA is a huge pain in the ass , with limited options.
