The threads on the gun are a nutsert I am willing to bet the solder holding the threads in failed, and that nutsert is spinning on you. . Try holding the threads in place carefully while you turn the screw.

Or if the female nutsert is solidly bonded to the body, but the screw threads are still spinning. That tells me you gauled the threads on the screw you can try pulling while you turn carefully and see if you can't get the threads that are left to catch. You may also have luck simply torching the nutsert out, and soldering a new one in.

Jeeper Creeper has re soldered that insert for other members before so if it's above your skill set, shoot him a pm maybe.

Ooof level 100. Man that sucks.

I am and or was really hoping one of the smarter guys would pipe in here, but in my morning coffee hour I've found that what I believe you are after is called a clinch nut. I found these on Amazon, but I advise you do your own diligent research before buying them on my recommendation.

Honestly dude, I'd personally have someone who knows what they are doing solder it back in.

They aren't soldered in, they work like rivets. Theres a tool that works great, you can buy a tool on Amazon for about $40. They come with some 8-32 nuts, but they are too long for most Sheridans / PPS and need to be shortened before install.

There's ways to do it with a long screw, washers answer a nut, but it's going to be harder to keep it straight. Putting these riv-nuts on a tube is more difficult than flat plate.

If you want, I'll put one in for you. Pm me
