Looking for more info about this pump marker

I've had this for the better part of about 8 years at least. I know there is a green splash one of these out there. Forget where I saw it.

I think it's a Sanchez Machine but I'm not sure. It's missing some milling that the SM-1 has, so I'm unsure what it really is.

I'm having issues getting the velocity down to 300 and would like to know the best way make the pump stroke smoother. I know very little about old school pumps/markers.

    Any help would help!

PS. If I'm posting in the wrong sub please let me know!
PSS. If someone is a pump master, I'd be willing send for full service as this was my late brothers and I don't plan on ever getting rid of it, but would like it shooting tip top.

Sanchez machine custom Ano Dye reg, and PE Asa.

If you are having issues getting it below 300 FPS your reg pressure is to high. The regs on pumps are your base line fine Adjustment is done threw the IVG at the back of the marker lower tube. In to go up out to go down. There are some great YouTube videos on how to “sweet spot your reg”. This will give you the best performance and make your marker operate the best. It’s best for you to lear how to do it yourself so that when it needs to be cleaned down the road you don’t have to send it out each time.

Pump handle likely just needs a good cleaning and guide rods polished. You can polish any surface area. Make sure the pump arm isn’t binding on that body guide and there isn’t twist in it between the back block/ bolt and Handle. s
Sear and hammer lug can be cleaned up with some very fine wet sandpaper and some jewelers Rouge if they are pitted and in ruff shape. Light oil with some quality oil after your done cleaning up and it will shoot great for you.

This should solve your high velocity issue.

Yeah, I got that stuff down. I'm trying to figure out exactly what SM pump this is as it has different milling than the SM-1.
And what parts would be compatible to get this going good again.

They did do a few different body cuts over the years. There was some prototype bodies sold. There’s one in the BST now. But the internals are the same as far as I know. You
would need to pull it apart to see what’s in it.

Its a custom Ano so it could have custom matching done. The lower tube looks to be missing the pill shaped cuts that most of them have. It may be an early one before they started adding them.

Its a cool piece. If for some reason you can’t get it working right yourself I’m more the willing help you. Honestly it’s not hard, you just need to know how. Knowing how will keep that thing shooting a long long time.

Start with the reg and the video I just posted let me know how you make out. Put the IVG about one and a half turns in from flush and make your adjustments on the reg. If you still have trouble it may need different springs but I highly doubt it.

Chuck's got you on the right path. Snipers are pretty simple creatures, so don't be afraid to take it apart. I'm not sure if you would require a valve tool for this or not. Not familiar with Sanchez bodies. Turn your attention to the high pressure reg. Play around with the adjustments and that should fix your issue. If you still have issues after that you can order a new valve and spring set, but likely not worth the money. I've gone through route on a recent build as I didn't want to spend all the time monkeying around with different springs so grabbed an ID bottom line kit. Just dropped it in with the suggested springs and had no issues. It was for a mech cocker build though, so not sure how it would feel as a pump.

Fortunately there's little reason to pull out the valve, unless the 1 oring is bad. You can access both sides without removing it. I'd suggest counting how many turns the IVG takes to remove it so you can get it back approximately where it was to start.

I’m figuring the IVG it’s all the way out if he can’t get below 300fps.

I like to set all my markers 1.5-2 turns in from flush so it’s on the back end of the adjustment range keeping the pump stroke light and tight. But still has some adjustment for velocity fluctuations in paint/bore match. Some people tune for flush I don’t like that because it gives you no lower end adjustment if you get a good tight bore match or paint swells a lil.

I agree if it’s not leaking now he probably won’t need the valve tool.

One thing is for sure when you get that reg Sweet spotted do not touch it until you notice performance degrade.

You want to make life easier next time when you get it right. You can reg test it so you know what your particular spring and valve setup sweet spot at (if you have a tool). I then count my IVG rotations out so after a service I can set it all back to the money spot. I keep notes because I have a few Pumps.., just a few.

Reg pressure Tool can be made with at 1-500psi liquid pressure gage some plumbing supplies and a ASA that vents. If you think you want to make one let me know I can get you links on what to buy. Super easy to make and will make service in the future super easy. You don’t need it you will just have to sweet spot the reg each time you clean the reg. Depending on how often you play and how dirty your air source is. It could be fine for many years to come. The tool just allows you to skip the tuning step. I would focus on getting is right first.

Just providing an update for everyone who's been sooo awesome to reply! Going to get the right stuff to polish the rods and everything. Will take photos during my teardown. My Paintball Radarchron (cheap chrono) no longer works when I tried to get it going last night so I'll probably have to wait till I'm at a field to start setting and counting my turns. My reg is set for 500psi but I do have old SLP regs if you guys would recommend that.

My pump stroke does seem kinda hard. Much harder than the empire sniper. Would this be the spring? maybe I have something wrong in there. Will take lots of photos tonight though.

Chrono probably just needs at new battery. I forget what size they use. It is a camera battery, but not the 2032 size.

500psi tank pressure or Reg pressure?

              Tank pressure fine.
              Reg Pressure to high.

make sure your frame screws are in the right order. Long one goes in the front short in the back. Otherwise it will bind lower tube springs and cause all kinds of wacky issues.

Check that The dual pump rods are evenly torqued. If one side is to tight it will force it out of square and bind on thoes body guides. Polish up and clean the inside of the handle and the guild rod it rides on. That should make a big difference.

Set your HPR/ Reg (the one on your Gun, not tank) to 325-350psi.. With the cap screwed out where its just no threads showing (if you dont have a cap as an IVG , then make sure IVG flush with the back of the Marker. Adjust the IVG in to get the correct FPS... Sanchez markers have a harder pump stroke. I found that using a lighter Valve spring and lighter Hammer spring helps some, but Its never going to be a CCM . Lighter Pump spring helps too. Run some lube on the pump handle guide rod and a lil llube on the pump rods just where they go through the body and a lil lube w sled bottom (its the part the bolt goes into......

I have 11 of then left as Kits...

                  This is great info!

Wait, you have other SM body kits?! I'll be in contact.

I was just “gifted“ the body for a SM – 1 Tactical. It’s an old piece and it’s missing a few things. The pump handle, and one of the rods are not there. the vertical air supply is not there either.
My biggest concern is that the conical piece on the back is not there either. What it looks like from the back is my auto Cocker, with the large hex velocity screw.

Can you help me help me figure out what I’m missing so I can bring this back to life?

Send Autocockerparts.com a message on his web site. Back caps are listed there and I think he has spares, pump handle and VA , the rods are easy to make by just cutting one of the thread ends off a normal rod..
