Soooooo What hoppers are we using for pump these days?

Well, I've been away from paintball for about 20 years, and apparently while I was gone, the paintball industry STILL hasn't figured out that pump players want decent little hoppers.

    Some things never change.

For those of you old enough to remember, back in the day I started modifying Sportshot hoppers to make them actually feed .68 paint reliably. Added Exalt speed feeds, made a bunch of improvements, and ended up selling around 100 of the things to fellow pump players.

Eventually Simon called me, and we collaborated on the Empire version. Which, naturally, now appears to be out of production too.

Twenty years later, I'm dusting off my CCM T2, looking around for a decent 50–100 round hopper, and apparently we're right back to modifying whatever plastic container we can find.

So what the hell are pump players using these days?

Are people still modifying Sportshots? Using the GoG/Tippmann/Empire multi-caliber hoppers? 3D printing their own? Has somebody finally made the perfect little gravity hopper while I was away?

I'm particularly interested in something that feeds .68 reliably, doesn't require shaking it like a can of spray paint, and ideally accepts a speed feed.

There's a low-cap "PALS" hopper (if you can find it) that holds about 120 and feeds pretty well.

Most people just use the same old stuff as ten years ago, though.

I agree, I have been using the PE Pals hopper and really like it for my pumped autococker.

The Tippmann "multi cal" 100 round. Or for 50, the mini Winchester is still popular, or the 3d printed Paintball DNA Jolo is quite well liked, and feeds the best, just a little goofy looking (to me)

Welcome back! Pump players are still the trash and tailings of the pb industry; you got that right.

yes, beauty of the pump the tech from 30 years ago still works great.

sportshot, gog 100 rounder (tougher to find lately), Winchester, or APP all still show up from time to time.

Ben at pbdna made a great pump hopper called the jolo. 3d printed, magnetic lid, seems to be preferred for most pumpers lately.

No real new pumps lately. An offering from Nova and Meteor, but they are the old autococker designs type.

      MVP 2 still not released.

CCM still the top dog arguably, and their production numbers are down a bit.

just like that you are caught up.

      Have a good one!

JOLO with the cram and jam lid is my goto. Very well made for being a print.

Another vote for the JOLO, great hopper for pump, or for limited paint setups.

I'm a Jolo user as well. The GoG 100 is great for a 100rd loader but I don't find a need to have that much paint.
