Well, I've been away from paintball for about 20 years, and apparently while I was gone, the paintball industry STILL hasn't figured out that pump players want decent little hoppers.
Some things never change.
For those of you old enough to remember, back in the day I started modifying Sportshot hoppers to make them actually feed .68 paint reliably. Added Exalt speed feeds, made a bunch of improvements, and ended up selling around 100 of the things to fellow pump players.
Eventually Simon called me, and we collaborated on the Empire version. Which, naturally, now appears to be out of production too.
Twenty years later, I'm dusting off my CCM T2, looking around for a decent 50–100 round hopper, and apparently we're right back to modifying whatever plastic container we can find.
So what the hell are pump players using these days?
Are people still modifying Sportshots? Using the GoG/Tippmann/Empire multi-caliber hoppers? 3D printing their own? Has somebody finally made the perfect little gravity hopper while I was away?
I'm particularly interested in something that feeds .68 reliably, doesn't require shaking it like a can of spray paint, and ideally accepts a speed feed.
