I have made a few mech ions , and I love them to death so much that I sold pretty much all my other mechanical guns. Including my beloved automag. But I’m wondering if there is a three-way valve that has a shorter travel? It’s a very short travel to begin with using a Clifford Smav 3x but is there something with a shorter travel to actuate ?

You could run a Mac33 solenoid if you convert the valve to mechanical actuation (ahem, rawbutter) but you'd need to run an external LPR to provide air pressure to it and then have to fiddle with balancing your LPR and HPR.
Smavs have a 1/16" stem travel, though - is that not short enough?

The disadvantage to this is that the trigger pull is heavier. You can see in the video when I try to tap the trigger farther up, and the marker doesn't shoot because I'm being too gentle. This isn't as big a deal when you're shooting the gun the "correct" way instead of using one finger on your weak hand at a weird angle, but it's still noticeable.

Don't forget that you also need to factor in the cost of fittings. M3 fittings are surprisingly expensive and hard to find. I think the Beswick ones are the best, but M3 swivel elbow fittings are $8 a piece, and shipping is usually over $20. Straight fittings are much cheaper, but they only work if you have a lot of space inside the frame.View my feedback or read about my Virginia woodsball club.
