    Airline misery....

So we play a modern game and we all have to play left handed to varying degrees. I find the stock steel braided hose and duckbill asinine. Using a forward loop requires at least 18 inches of macro line, back wards still isn't great for switching hands. So options.... An internal custom hardline would be the best. Not much luck finding the extra stock parts for a vert adapter much less the internal setup. Any ideas? Is there anyone who could do an internal hard line in a timely fashion? Maybe a VA setup would be ideal. I'd love a lengthened body spacer that a mag VA could be bolted to. Perhaps modifying a duckbill and bolting it to the trigger guard.

There is a factory option for that you know. Why is your valve ported on the other side? Oh it’s not it’s out the back it’s got a Bronze style valve body. The SC STP are ported on the left side of the marker not out the back.

Well I’m glad I got one when I did then. They sat for a while and production numbers were low. I’m assuming they didn’t sell many and the ones they did got shipped to the US.

2nd response. They won't be ordering more for a while cause they already did. Their shipment is on the way. And there is (sob!) a few pink stock class in it. But at least we all saved some cash. He said it can take a month to hear back from Arrow.

Yeah Arrow is horrible to deal with. Well I’m glad they got a new batch coming in. I’m curious if they get some different or custom colors in.

what does the body/frame spacer look like from the top uninstalled? I wonder if that wouldn't be the route to go and use a mag vert asa.

I'll post a picture when I get home. Heck, I've got a spare Lada Sterling with the same spacing if someone needed to use it as a test bed. I recall the ancient pics that surfaced from La Frac? doing it 20 years ago on their half block Sterling.

The spacer. Looks like 3 holes (one at each end, one to hold the body screw, the 2nd one in the back is unused) a slot; and a half milled oval for an oring that plugs the bottom of the valve exhaust. Looks like this could be round as well as it's only function is to hold an oring. The hole is left from boring the body for the valve exhaust to vent up to the bolt. The bar is plenty strong and thick but might need a less corse thread to hold a vert asa like a mag dies.

I'm in the process of milling a sorry excuse for an aluminum rail on my sorry excuse for a mill, to add a mag VA. No idea how one would fit an air line inside it, though, without some serious sorcery. Instrument tube down the edge, and use steel to make up for the loss of strength?

Oh, no other mods needed. A rail that I could put a VA on would make me very happy.

Can you measure your rail very carefully, and send me details? Mine is a generation older. But, if you don't mind that the milling might be a bit rough, I could help you out.

I might have the worst mill in existence that's actually capable of this; I keep telling it it's a lathe but it insists it's both.

I had a similar setup. I had two holes drilled int eh trigger frame to accept a Phantom vert ASA. Then I ran macro from a plug to the asa. I don't have a pic of that, but I do have one with a 12 gram adapter on it. Kind of like what you mentioned originally.

How secure feeling was the setup? Just wondering with phantom VA being flat attaching to a round trigger guard.

They were able to use both holes on the Phantom asa, If I remember correctly I had to buy a longer screw for one of them. However, it was very sturdy.

I've searched high and low. No micrometer to be found. So next best thing. I pulled apart my old school Sterling and swapped the inserts. They are identical as far as I can tell and both markers worked fine with the swapped parts. So, if a 2nd extended insert is possible, I'd love to purchase it to play with and muddle on!

        Very interesting.
I'll see if I can whip up another - busy couple weeks - then get in touch if I feel like it's usable.

Wow, I had one almost exactly like that. Square sided pump and original grips and barrel, though.

        What a looker!

That is a cracking setup. Very cool.

I’ve made a few Gas thru grip Sterlings. The easiest uses macro fittings routed up through the grip frame. The only tricky part is sourcing low profile macro fittings. Something like a CCM or Norgren non swivel fitting work great but I’m working on a hardline version currently but that’s like a month out

I ended up extending my rail and using it for an underpump guide that keeps the pump sammiched in between the barrel and the rail. Added a AGD vert ASA and side tapped the valve. I didn't get the valve drilled as close to 90* as I would have liked but it works. While the slot in the pump handle looks bad in the pick, it's just a bit of grease.

That's an interesting idea and cool way to support an under barrel pump. I just don't have tools capable of making a rail so I'm looking for options.
