          I think you mean what you need is a sear. What you actually have is a shear. Shear in your sear.

          I have a junk Sterling. I’ll see if I can find it.

                I was wondering if this was a typo or if Sterling internals were called something different.

                While I am a firm believer if you can get the correct part get the correct part but sears are pretty easy to make out of sheet stock. The Stirling profile is a little fragile stock form I would try to beef up a little if I was to make one.

                    This exact malfunction happed to me on the field during a competition. It was quite stressful, and not only for the sear.
