Aluminum is too soft to grind worth a damn, it plugs up wheels like you see there. If working by hand you'll have better luck with a carbide burr and moving to a grinding wheel or file for only the finish work. You'll have less clogging issues that way.Comment

For the aluminum the HSS should be fine. As a reference if you're doing anything more aggressive, they also make carbide versions https://www.lowes.com/pd/Dremel-Tung...ory/1000428251
