only time I've ever bothered was at a big game when I was leaving I had like 1/2 a bag left and my caddy was absolutely stuffed to bursting. I gave it to the people beside us who regularly played at that field. Otherwise unless it's someone from the group I go to the game with (usually we pool a bunch of paint) then no. Randos unless it's a kid sorry but no can do.My feedback +38/-0 on old MCB

I can't remember the last time it's ever happened to me, but I have no problem giving paint to randos. It's not common for me to shoot more than 2 bags in a day of play, and I always buy a full case so I always have extra at the end of the day. If it's a new player, I want them to have a good time. They're not going have fun walking off the field early because I'm too much of a tight ass to give them a pod of paint. And if they're an experienced player, I'm probably friends with them and will happily loan them a pod of paint. They've probably loaned me gear or paint in the past, or will in the future.
Paint is cheap, and the community is small. What goes around comes around.Comment

I will say i lve met and become friendly with lots of people this way at the field. Besides like beer and pot. Fastest way to make new friends at the paintball field, give them some paint.I can't remember the last time it's ever happened to me, but I have no problem giving paint to randos. and to Reiterate someone elses post. Most everyone offers to give me a pod back in return at the staging area.

I usually get shot before I run out of paint so in general I’m likely to share 100 if I have it...for renters and such. It’s impossible to imagine how broke some players might be that day. It would get old if it were the same two scrubs every time though, obviously.Comment

Unless you play at the [possibly closing] indoor fields, yes. $35 a case for HK Select, $50 for Supreme. And the $35 case shoots way better than it should at $35.Comment

I'll always throw a pod at someone I know because it's just temporarily borrowing it. I'll also gladly donate paint to the newer players who are having a blast and getting shit done. If they are helping hold a line or push then I'd rather have them there and help them have a good time.Comment

I play strictly hopper ball, so no. I don't feel bad - if you can blow through a hopper and 3 pods in a 10 minute game, in the woods, against a 5 person team, you're doing something wrong.Comment

I don't usually get asked. Sometimes I will, sometimes I won't, it depends. Normally, it's a hard no. Most players I see run dry mid-game are not prepared or too trigger happy, and I refuse to reward that. But there are rare occasions.
Last month, played a day where a rental asked for more paint and my buddy gave him a pod. Game ended, we switched sides, dude runs out again (why he didn't go back to staging area, who knows). He asks me, and I gave him a pod. When the ref brought us all back to the tables, dude refilled our pods from his own supply.
And this is why it depends. While he is a rental, he's become less of a random rental. Because now I know his name, and he's a regular that simply rents gear. And the next weekend I went out? He was there. With a pack and pods. The fact that he paid us back in paint, and the fact that he's a young dude genuinely loving the sport, learning the game, is actually getting pretty good, and playing it fiscally smart by renting gear, he gets a pass on a paint loan.Comment

I will judge case by case. If it’s a big game and we are in the middle of a fire fight and someone says “GD, I’m out” I’ll probably toss them a pod to keep things moving. If it’s a rental kid who is out, I’ll probably hook them up. If it’s a agg bro who has more money in gear then my first car? Probably not.
i consider myself generous at the field. Last time I was out there was a young-adult there who was just hanging out. He had gotten out of the sport and wanted to get back in but didn’t have the money yet. Real nice guy just talking having a good time. So I grabbed my DM6, a 68 and a Spire out of the bag and said “Are you easy on gear?” I made his day and we got another person on the field. I was happy to do it. I was even prepared to give him a bag of paint since I typically buy a case of paint but never shoot that much but he refused and bought his own. We play to have fun. I want everyone to have as much or more fun than I am.Comment
