Time for a new gun?

Does it surprise any of you that I am now thinking of getting an Anzodin KPC?


Pump: good
Cocker barrel: good
Regulator: good

I dunno... maybe I'm nuts...

How difficult would it be to convert one of these back into semi-auto? Do you just need a different cupseal stem and a different bolt linkage pin?

By the time you turned a KPC into a semi, you would have spent enough money to buy a Kaos III.

My guess is it would take at least a new...

Going from a PMI I to PMI III is a pretty big step.

I considered this just for fun being as I now have a KDII and a Kaos pump. I likely try it some day for fun once I get some air.

Why would you need to go with a different trigger, sear, or bolt on the Kaos pump compared to the semi?

I don't think the PMI I to PMI III comparison is apt- this is more like going from a S'pump back to a regular Spyder-.

It looks like the following parts would have to be swapped out:

BOLT PIN
CAP SEAL STEM
STRIKER
STRIKER SPRING
END CAP

But I have no interest in performing such an operation.

I may have to get another new gun for my kid. Depends on what she thinks after our first outing. There is no way in the world she will take a pump gun, so she'll probably end up wit the enmey... because it looks cool, and comes in blue. Those are her parameters.

And later, when she loses interest in Paintball... It'll be mine! And I can use it to terrify her boyfriends!

Absolutely nothing.

I just felt like something new. It's been a while since I had a NEW new marker. I still have a couple of old project guns. Who knows how much I'll drop into that Sniper I got... But now that I have the Need for New out of my system with the KPC, I can start looking for a nice old-school semi... and a stock marker. I need one of those too...

I got an e-mail form ANS today. The KPC is no longer in stock and is out of production. BUT, instead $150 for a KPC, I can get a KPC+ instead for only $300.

Add another endorsement for the eNMEy. I have a beat-up old ex-rental first gen eNMEy I bought off eBay just to have a backup/loaner to toss in the gear bag. Don't believe I've ever actually played a game with it myself, come to think of it, but it has gotten used by friends who tagged along. Lightweight and dead simple to clean and maintain, it has never given me any trouble. Shoots as fast as you can expect from a pure mech, and pretty smoothly at that. My buddy had me hunt up a 2nd gen one to give to his nephew who had used mine his first time playing and loved it. So now there's a deep blue 2nd gen in my gear bag waiting to surprise the nephew the next time we all go play.

The biggest drawback to the eNMEy is the trigger pull, which is a little squishy and it is possible to short stroke. With good trigger technique you can make one rip, though. And the trigger spring tension is adjustable with something like 8 settings. Like all spoolies, it loves lube. The 2nd gen features toolless back cap and bolt assembly removal, and the bolt can and manifold are screwed together so you can pull the whole assembly out in one piece without dropping any parts. Field strip, lube, and reassemble in under 2 minutes, easy.

Like many others, I would suggest used instead of new because of the Gardners. I would rather not endorse anything of theirs, but honestly on the merits of its design I must say the eNMEy is the best thing in its price range.

That and an on/off ASA and more match-anodized parts.
I think the price on the older gun was lowered from $200 or more as ANS tried to move old stock.

It turns out that my "New" markers will, in fact be "New-to-Me" markers.

I picked up a Line SI Bushmaster (fixed barrel) and something called an Avalon GT 2000 STBB for $20. I just have to wait to put my hands on them until I get to Michigan for vacation.
I will, however, keep a lookout for an Emek. I have heard too many good things about them.

Emek is the way to go. They are all Business. Cheap enough to beat the hell out of like you don’t care. They shoot amazing have great efficiency, and are super reliable. People complain about PE fanboys but embrace it. They really are that good.
