Ummmmm....i think it's settled. A double trigger, on a Deadly Wind hAir valved Emek, is the pinnacle of unassisted ( meaning no RT ) mech performance!

Double Triggers on Emeks are a little bit fast!
This thing is pretty fun! Never thought that I would ever be able to effortlessly shoot a double trigger mechanical paintball gun.https://stanchy.com/🛍️ ME...'96 RF Mini Cocker, '95 RF Autococker, 68-Automag Classic, Banzai Splash Minimag, Gen-E Matrix, Shoebox Shocker 4x4, Montneel Z-1, Tippmann Pro-Carbine, Tippmann Mini-Lite, Tippmann Model-98, Tippmann 68-Special, Spyder .50 cal Opus/Opus-A , Tippmann .50 Cal Cronus , Gog Enmey .50 cal , Tippmann Vert ASA 68-Carbine, Bob Long Millennium, ICD Grey Green Marble Splash Alleycat Deluxe (runs liquid co2) , Halfblock 2K4 Prostock Autococker , 2K RF Sniper II

I always wanted to build one like that once I saw the double trigger kit but like Brad mentions at the end, it's not legal pretty much anywhere. Most fields follow tournament rules so a double trigger pneumatic mech gun wouldn't be allowed. So it's kinda pointless. It would only be usable at outlaw fields where I could shoot unlimited ramping if I wanted to.

Just a blind, battery-less, uglier Etha 2. For the costs and trouble I'd personally rather just have an Etha 2.

I agree 100%. I saw this and thought the same thing if you're going to shoot that fast just get the Etha2. I bought the Emek to play rec with it and save some money shooting less paint. I also like pointing out to rentals that I'm shooting the same type of gun as they are if they are concerned about playing against me. I have held off getting the hair valve to be sure I'm shooting slower.

Cyberpyr8 amen, I can shoot plenty fast with a lighter trigger spring and th stock valve. Rentals still look at me like I'm some kind of "pro" though. Jokes on them!

It's not like you're shooting a consistent 15 bps onz ramp, it's even more inconsistent than just walking an electro in semi would be. Even in that video it's probably only 12ish BPS. My CVO is more likely to get me pulled than the double trigger emek IMO.

I think this mod appeals to a different crowd, to those players that simply prefer the feel of double trigger, or those that find any mod that increases rate of fire interesting. Folks that would likely dig this , would be those interested in getting their Mag setup to RT, fans of pneu-mags and pneu-cockers, etc. If you think the old Pro-Line Response frame, or RawButters Response trigger mod is cool, you're probably wanting to tinker with this Emek!Last edited by Meleager7; 05-13-2021, 11:58 AM.'96 RF Mini Cocker, '95 RF Autococker, 68-Automag Classic, Banzai Splash Minimag, Gen-E Matrix, Shoebox Shocker 4x4, Montneel Z-1, Tippmann Pro-Carbine, Tippmann Mini-Lite, Tippmann Model-98, Tippmann 68-Special, Spyder .50 cal Opus/Opus-A , Tippmann .50 Cal Cronus , Gog Enmey .50 cal , Tippmann Vert ASA 68-Carbine, Bob Long Millennium, ICD Grey Green Marble Splash Alleycat Deluxe (runs liquid co2) , Halfblock 2K4 Prostock Autococker , 2K RF Sniper II

By the time you factor in the cost of this kit, a Hair valve, and the Emek itself, you're probably better off just getting an Etha 2 and being done with it. At least then you get the benefit of having eyes. This concept just feels like it's trying to be an electro without the need for a battery. As it is, it's not tournament legal and there's no way to cap the rate of fire for rec play. It takes the D out of DBAD.

I like the idea, I had a trigger for my ego, i think it was a killa. It was a magnetic trigger where you could swap out from a double to a single trigger just by twisting the front shoe off and replacing it with either that single or double trigger shoe. That would make this kit ideal. Larger trigger guard and a choice of singe or double trigger in a matter of seconds.Last edited by Brandon; 05-13-2021, 11:38 AM.

No field is turning walkon away because there markers are not tournament legal. When’s the last time you been told you cant use your 98 with an RT or modified mags. The fields are doused with electros and they are allowed. Why would this be any different. When is the last time you have been told “you cant shoot that here” at any rec place. With the exception of mag fed or specific format play.
Now Tournaments on the other hand… Your getting pulled you walk on the field with that at 99.9% of any Mech event. Same way you would with those full auto mag mods RT and such.
Hair valve pen spring on a light trigger setup you can walk a regular Emek/M170R if you really try. You get caught you could be pulled for it. I can almost shoot that fast in the video with one finger with my modified Emek without the double trigger. Most that play regularly can with that DW Valve. CVO can shoot just about that fast out of box if you are willing to take that hit on efficiency.
Mods not for me I use my emek for 10 man. My rec days are for pump/stock class. But for the average rec player who has no interest in competitive play it’s a great way to increase ROF without adding battery’s to the mix.

Also the maker of this upgrade is a bit sketchy. I would avoid just based on who made it.

All the people saying no field would ban this, well. My field will. The field owner (my old boss) has explicitly said so. Cockers without beavertails, double triggers on modern mechs, all not allowed.

It's actually an insurance issue. Same as requiring safeties in mech guns, not that anyone ever follows that. Cockers without beavertails pose a safety risk, and if 10.2 is the cap for electros, again for safety reasons, why would a mech shooting 12+ be allowed?
Also, there's like 5 people that shoot cockers around here. To say he's turning away 80% of paintball players is just ludicrous.
-
I probably haven't been around long enough to see it happen but is/was an autococker back-block breaking a mask lens a common occurrence? I assume that's the safety issue that you're referring to Magmoormaster ?
-
Not at all, the point of a beavertail is to prevent people from pushing the cocking rod with their thumb in order to get higher velocities. That's the safety problem; people now shooting 350 FPS.

So what is the exact logic for banning even in tournaments? It just cycles too fast?
What absurd reasoning.

May as well make it sear engaged design only and be done with it then. Capped electros should be to discourage electro use all together, and heavily encourage mech regardless of design IMO.
Like said earlier, the shape of the trigger is irrelevant, a longer trigger blade results in a longer, but easier, pull. I can shoot single trigger angel LCDs faster than double triggers.
-
You can walk the trigger when you ca get two fingers in the trigger guard. So they specifically design the markers so it’s harder to do that. You still can with the right setup however you get caught it’s cheating. You could catch a penalty. Same way you could for extra layers, shooting hot, getting rid of shots. The point of it is to keep the markers firing rates around the same. That is also why assisted triggers are not allowed as well. Like RT mags.
Electro are allowed but they are capped very low so it’s a disadvantage to most Mech setups. You don’t see them much in competitive play. You use to see a lot of old cockers now it’s all CVO, Emek And M170R because they are superior in every way. Except for the sound of 10 Autocockers all going off at the start of a point that is awesome! Early games are often played with cockers finals they are all shooting modern Mech 90% of the time.
-
I just want to point out that RT Automags are allowed, they just aren't allowed to bounce. It must remain true semi-auto. Also, pneumatic assisted sear-trippers are not allowed. So even though sear-tripped markers can have double triggers, pneumags and the like are illegal no matter what, single trigger or otherwise.
