It was Diomedes , he invented the Hawaiian bottle setup. Story goes he was eating a pineapple, watching "Hard Ticket to Hawaii" on VHS, all at the same time as tuning his Phantom, and the Hawaiian tank configuration was born!'96 RF Mini Cocker, '95 RF Autococker, 68-Automag Classic, Banzai Splash Minimag, Gen-E Matrix, Shoebox Shocker 4x4, Montneel Z-1, Tippmann Pro-Carbine, Tippmann Mini-Lite, Tippmann Model-98, Tippmann 68-Special, Spyder .50 cal Opus/Opus-A , Tippmann .50 Cal Cronus , Gog Enmey .50 cal , Tippmann Vert ASA 68-Carbine, Bob Long Millennium, ICD Grey Green Marble Splash Alleycat Deluxe (runs liquid co2) , Halfblock 2K4 Prostock Autococker , 2K RF Sniper II

I'm a little disappointed in some of you New Englanders. From my records;
"It originated on an island in a New Hampshire lake that was used for National Survival Games tournaments from '83 to '88.
The lake has since been turned into a resevoir(sic), the island was submerged when they raised the water level [~1992]."

It was called "Deer Island", hence the term "Island Style". And they would flank the other team by swimming or wading and wanted to keep those old thermo tanks and fittings out of the water.
This was before more modern ASA's.
However I later heard it was Earon Carter who first turned around a bottom line ASA after Tippmann brought them to market in '87.
Since He was in Hawaii at the time, the term Hawaiian style became popular, if misnamed.
