Hammer 7 build, looking for inspiration

I have been on a bolt action kick for a while now and I recently acquired a functional hammer 7. I am planning a rifle build with it and am excited to do it but for some reason and lacking a vision with this one.

Current thoughts are to use a 10/22 stock and am planning to machine a completely new lower so the trigger and position in the stock isn't wierd. Other than that, I got nothing. Looking for thoughts, wood stock, composite? Tacticool or old school? Any motivation would be great.

Also should mention I am planning first strikes and a supremacy scope

Only reason I would ever want a Hammer7 again is to do a lever action build. I don’t even know if they are still making them. But that was the coolest mod they did for them IMO.

There was a bunch of options for that thing in the Hammer7 FBook pages. None address the flaws in the marker all of them just made it look different.

If you fill in the flat spot on the bolt with JB weld it will get better efficiency and be softer on paint. This only works with a different Mag mod like the Zetta/ Dam/ PE

I really want to do a lever build sometime but I want to make it an over under so not with this hammer. I think I have resolved some of the mag issues and when I make my lower I am going to make a few other tweaks and make it feel less cheap

Think I might make one that replaces the whole valve body to remove some length then port the bottom or side. I remember someone already making them to save me some work but it was years ago

I don’t see why you couldn’t turn down the stock one tap it in the side and plug the rear port with a stainless grub screw. People do it all the time with the phantom ones. With the hammer you could probably tap the bottom to and hide it all in the frame. Shapeways has a printed lower that takes AR style grips to.

Yep, that's what I did with my bolt action Poo gun which started life as a trracer.

Epoch Paintball made this one it’s definitely one of the better builds. I don’t have a FBook account to see if he’s still making them. But I would definitely go this route if I could get my hands on one. 12g bucket off the grip to is cool! Even tho your going to get about 12-15 shots to a 12g with a Hammer 7 + that long barrel it may be worse.

Yep lever action is very cool. I would go with a modern composite stock because I always cringe when I see someone bubba a Mauser or M1 Carbine for PAINTBALL.

The hammer 7 was a crappy gun to begin with. It only made sense as a base when it was cheap and plentiful. I sold mine for like twice what I paid for it.

Sooo, I know I just posted this today but had a magpul 10/22 stock happen to fall into my hands so it seems like that is the direction to go with this. Will post a build thread
