    ASA adapters

For some time Ive been looking for an ASA extender that can provide me with 2 things
    1) a 1/8 NPT port on the side for fittings and gauges
    2) Contains a mechanism that allows On/Off ASA continue to work through the extender collar. No twisting the bottle into position and activate from a fixed static pin.

The ones ive found so far have a fixed pin that requires rotating the bottle into position to activate. For what i'm trying to do thats no good. Does anything like this even exist?

I haven't seen one yet myself. I think they would be tough to manucafturer with a dynamic pin like you want.

I have a SP on off which has no gage port, and a stacic pin, but q ball valve above the tank valve, so once its on the bonnet. It works. But this doesnt give you a gage option.

I have 2x gage port adapters these have the 1/8 npt side taps, but bo pin at all, just a through hole.
every other rendition Ive seen either has a static pin, or no port adapters.

you may be able to make a floating pin assembly for a gage port adapter to achieve your goals.

In my head thats the easiest thing to do. Make a delrin or plastic slider insert. Press the correct length pin in the plug, and set it in the gage port adpter. Then the dynamic pin assembly would transfer your on off pin movement to the tank pin.

Trinity asa extender is the one you’re looking for. I haven’t seen one in a long time😒

Was gonna say the same thing. I feel like they were everywhere and then suddenly no where.

I have used an extender with an 1/8" NPT ball valve on the output and that worked well enough, but I personally prefer to have a venting on/off as I tend to use an on/off as a safety

Just make sure to read your specs, some brass ones can handle 1200 PSI and some steel ones blow out at 100 PSI, so you can't just rely on the material.

What are you trying to build?

Huh, ASA extender with dynamic pin...no clue. What's the ASA you're working with? Can it be drilled and tapped for a gauge on the side, or the stock fitting replaced with a T-fitting to allow an inline gauge to be plumbed in?

Thanks for the responses. Its for an Automag project im working on. Would rather not say what exactly simply because im not really interested in reading up on peoples opinions of what I should and should not do with the project. Needless to say I may end up getting a fixed pin ASA extender with ports and use some kind of easily broken epoxy to fix it to a gun ASA so it does not rotate when I install and remove a tank.

Use blue locktite, it will serve the purpose...

So, you are using an air source with an on/off? You need to flow air into an ASA, and need an extender that has gauge ports, but no actuating pin? And you don't want it to unscrew with the bottle/source?

Walker. My thought was machine a pin for one of these exact extenders.

My air source does not have an on/off. I currently rely upon an ASA on/off which is the reason why im looking for a extender with ports AND a floating pin.

Critical Hammer. Ill try to remember to snag a reg extender of mine and bring it to work and see if a custom pin in one of those would work. If it does. Id make one and make sure it works and sell it to you for cheap. Id also love to make it happen for myself as I use those reg extenders for under mounting my havoc to randomness, and as of now Im forced to put my SP fixed pin ball valve on off on a tank. Then use the ball valve on said assembly. Not only does it make for a gangly assembly. The ball valve almost needs to be installed and removed on an empty tank as it depresses the pin a bit early and preaurizes the ball cavity.

I'm confused by what you have said you wanted and this. If I'm reading this right, this would turn the extender into a standard, NON-on/off asa, so the on/off asa on your marker would in effect be useless because when you turned it off, it would vent out the incoming pressure since the tank would still be on.

Edit: assuming it's a venting asa, if it's a non vent, nothing would actually change, you would still be supplying air to the marker

Why not change out the ASA? Stuff like the cp mini can have an output on either side, so for your application you could put a gauge (or whatever you are doing) in one side and your output in the other. That way you wouldn't need a custom extender

On a side note, custom extender is the name of my fantasy band now
