Opinions on the Anti roll out finger thingys

I am stuck in the past and I realize that so I still prefer my old one piece stainless barrels over my new fancy barrel kits. That being said, I shoot a closed bolt marker and last weekend the paint was so small I had no choice but use a new fangled barrel kit.

I have seen the anti roll out devices that are the little circles with the 3 fingers and I am curious what others experiences are with them in cockers and snipers. Do they work, how long do they last, do the cause more breakages, etc?

They worked great for me. I prefer an old-school 16" All American on my Cockers and the fingers allow me to use one without worrying about rollout.

I’m for em. I don’t know if freedummy put up a thread up on new MCB, but I’ve never worn one of his out. I do take my barrel out and lose them all the time though.

I ordered a bunch a while ago. Still on my first one. Haven’t had any problems with them. Even work with the reballs I have.

I use electrical tape in my barrel on a pump. Holds up though use and works flawlessly for me. I Have freak barrels and barrel kits and for me they all perform basically the same. They stopped roll outs. Never used finger detents because i hear they can shoot out. If you run these fingers tell me your experience

I use masking tape sometimes... works fine.

I got a bunch from freedummy, as well as some metal ones from someone else. They all work great, but I prefer a properly-sized barrel.

I never get roll outs. Ever.

Shoot ~ pump ~ run around = ball rolls out.
Pump ~ shoot ~ run around = no ball in the barrel to roll out.

Yep, I actually did a thread on this. I am a click click boomer as opposed to a boom click clicker which avoids this problem when I play pump. The problem is on the rare occasion I play with the autococker which doesn't give you much choice.

Not sure who told you the fingers shoot out but Freedummy's don't.... maybe the other versions out there that are made by someone else.

The cocker ones I've had worked out well. However, I've also tried both the Phantom & Trracer/Maverick ones and I've broken fingers off on the first day of use. I'm using a barrel kit now, but when I want to run an Apex or something else on my cockers I'll still use those.

The cocker and shoebox ones work the best, I swear by them. I think my pump cocker still has the original fingers from the first run. Some of the other threadings have had some issues for me (pinching, etc), but my experience overall with them has been quite good.

And you never EVER shoot downhill? How about when you have to dodge in some way where your barrel has to point down for a second? Or if you turn around really quickly without pointing your barrel straight up first? You must have zatoichi level discipline. You probably never tried shooting a 6” stock class phantom as-is on field paint. It’s literally difficult to cock if at all without a roll out because it has to be tipped forward to feed and then very very quickly tipped all the way back to stop that round from continuing right out onto the forest floor. If you do it too slowing you’ll fling the ball out as you tip it back.
