Yeah. Free dummies are very durable and I’ve never broken one except by once over tightening the barrel and that was the CCI one (maybe the thinnest). Lone Wolf made a video where they had any old guy print any old design with and old plastic and they shot out in the first shot...Lone Wolf...is not a place where people rock a lot of vintage pumps. They’re a very old shop but you’d think they opened last week when it comes to the tech they seem to care about. They just want to sell disposable $$$$ crap to auto worker’s kids. They have no drive to keep old guns going forever. Freedummy does. Quality exists. Blah blah blah.

I've used freedummy's and had no issues. I believe it's tpu and a ring of petg to reinforce it when the barrel shank gets tightened down. I also print my own with straight tpu for my Spyders and cockers. Also have no issues. Just don't be a jag and print them with straight pla or petg then bitch they broke or shot out. You're doing it wrong. LOL

That's an important part, the barrel has to tighten against them and the bottom of the breech shoulder, clamping it in. Not all barrels are shouldered long enough for a particular body, and barrel o-rings can also keep you from tightening all the way down to hold in the detent. Also, use them on oversized barrels only. No point in using them on smaller/right-sized barrels, which also bend the fingers excessively.

They are nice on an old 0.690 barrel that you can just leave on a marker for most days. I've lost one on a loose barrel fit, but they have worked perfect otherwise.

On a OG Sterling with a matching barrel they are INVALUABLE. Or a Trracer, or anything really where you just want the gun simple and original and paired with the barrel you want to use with it, changing almost nothing. Take the gun off the wall use it all day, put it back having never taken anything apart. Do it again next week. It's nice. Does it shoot as straight as a freeq? On crappy field paint? Yes.

They should come free with every Phantom, IMO.

Thanks all. Appreciate the reviews, good and bad (although bad is more useful).

Some noticed I haven't resurrected the sales thread since the hacking - I also had plans for the spring that the pandemic threw a wrench in. And of course there's been some other major upsets this year I won't get into, but let's just say I've been run ragged and beaten down.

I still have stock, but sales are low-key right now as I pick up the pieces. I have plans to address the durability of the more fragile versions, along with other improvements across the board. It looks promising so far, but I've got so much catching up to do.

Anyone have experience with the "Removable Wedgits" from PPS? it looks like they're made of metal. They're out of stock at the moment, but I've been itching to play with my old DYE barrels lately so I'm looking for options other than the ol' nail polish trick. I'd love to try freedummy's too when they become available.

You can still order any time, just there's a v2 update and price adjustment pending. I made these ones in response to the metal PPS ones because they're expensive, metal fatiques, and you can't jam a swab down the barrel with brass fingers.

They are metal, yes. I can’t think of one reason why you’d want that over plastic or even nail polish though.

I tried this when I got my first Phantom and was learning the ropes of pump. I got burned way more times going this route than praying a rollout didn’t happen while moving.

Those things work great. I've used them on my Snipers and haven't had any problems, and cheap-o paint suddenly works great.

I had bought some Trracer and Phantom ones from Freedummy as well, figuring I'll end up with one of those guns, and sure enough, a Trracer followed me home this week, so I'll have to give it a try.

You have to watch out, I have had more than one Trracer follow me home. They are sneaky like that

Glad this post was made since all the pages of original reviews are gone.
I have a few of these I haven't even used yet, but will likely be getting some love now that I've sold off my barrel kit and am just down to one barrel.

Oh yeah I forgot to ask....

I recall seeing an image from the original post for these on how they *should* be inserted in the breech. Was it "smooth" side down/towards bolt face?

                        Shiny/smooth towards the bolt, yes.

Sorry to revive an old thread but does anyone happen to have a link to where Freedummy is currently selling his anti-rollout inserts/fingers? Thank you very much for the help, either way
