They are tigershark threads. I've had half a dozen. I've also seen members on here use spyder barrels.

It's electropneumatic. The way the valve/ram/bolt is set up is the same as an ICD 'cat. Like how most poppets have the same arrangement as an STBB.

Heads up, this is not true at all. I got these in the other day and got to tear into one.

1) they are FASORs, the bolt has a spring in the middle of it. The big screw knob on top that looks like a bolt pin is fixed in place. Think of a spyder anti chop bolt in reverse. Bolt is pushed forward by air at the back and the spring resets everything

2) single tube body, the valve is actually in the front grip, it sits vertically. Super weird

3) because of that, these have a lever that interacts between the bolt and valve. Bolt cones forward, hits the lever, the lever is on a hinge that transitions that movement from horizontal to vertical Ave that opens the valve.

4) you have to remove the grip frame to access the battery

5)semi, 2,3,5 burst and full auto

I'm not sure what to feel about these, they are weird, innovative in some ways, really dumb in others

Brass Eagle Tiger Sharks and your Zap have the same barrel threading as the Brass Eagle Raptor and the F1 Illustrator. Only thing is you need to do is cut off about a quarter inch of the barrel shank. Then it will thread right in. Lots of companies made barrels in that threading but most are a bit uncommon these days.The Brass Eagle section should have the exact measurement to cut. Ironnerd has a posting about it for his Tiger Shark project. .

I've been told they just thread in. I believe Ben06 was the one that had used spyder barrels.

Yes the spyder barrels work on them no problem. Sometimes you do need to sand the barrel hole if they are fatter barrels but a quick sanding wheel on a Dremel and it's good. The mech I was making I was running a spyder freak with no issues.
