    Autococker 2.0

Getting rid of the front block...

Autocockers are a lot of fun to build but it feels like the code is still uncracked (exclude nummech) Click image for larger version Name:	Adobe_Express_20230918_2211160_1.png Views:	0 Size:	414.4 KB ID:	450920

I see room for reengineering and such that make believe that it was done to be reliable and save cost but what if it would be possible to retrofit a 2.0 vision the Andy way,

This was my thought exactly as I was reading this

Also that "wasted space" in front of the valve, if you remove that you can have lots of problems regarding velocity. I worked on a minied cocker with a mq2 that physically would not shoot above 260 because there simply wasn't enough air ready to go in front of the valve.

Something tells me that external pneumatics decorating the build, watching the back block moving back and forth, and the solid feeling metallic chunkiness is almost the entire appeal of Autocockers at this point. See the rising popularity of full body and slab side builds. It all stopped being about performance, weight, and cost a loooong time ago. Plus, you get to pick what color the microline is! That’s not to say there isn’t someone looking for this sort of thing. There’s always a few folks at the car show determined to shave and hide every last bit of mechanical stuff for the sake of cleanliness or weight.

Autococker are coolness in all pieces but I personally prefer the pump look modern and simple, still want pneus but not in front I feel the whole front block can fit in the frame

Morgenstern Yeah the way the autococker is set up is why I like it. Easy to service and tune. If you start making everything internal and eliminating the moving parts and external adjustability, might as well just run a more modern mech like an Emek or an LV where you have the bolt visibly moving back and forth.

How about a self cycling pump! gestimate is 2krounds

To me, autococker 2.0 would be a combination of a few odd cockers. Integrated front block like the trilogy, manifold system from the SR, internal ram like the Powerlyte Hybrid, gas thru frame like the nummech, and a midblocked body.

The fact that “mags versus cockers” was a thing 20-30 years ago proves that fans of cockers like the extra weight and complexity. Cockers are the Harley Davison of paintball guns. There’s nothing about them that makes any practical/technical/performance sense in 2023 and honestly even in 1993. People like them big and heavy and complicated. They are very satisfying to shoot and easy to tell what direction they are pointed it, mostly because of, not despite, the “wasted space” and all that. I don’t honestly see the appeal of CCMs or Empire Snipers/Cockers that have been so milled away and microsized they don’t feel like a cocker at all. Those dumb parts no other gun has make a really cool sound when operating. Cocker fans want the sound.

Most importantly…cockers fans need parts to swap. If doesn’t ship defective then the owner won’t know the satisfaction of upgrading it before it’s even fired, which is the best way to start down a path of endless tinkering and parts swapping. Without parts swapping there is no scene because almost nobody runs a stock cocker unless it’s a two year old Freeflow or something. If your gun isn’t compatible with the rest of the cockers made then there’s no scene.

Part swapping capability, or lack there of, is the only reason the SR wasn't popular ...

The satisfying part is when you have your cocker tuned and running like a top, they work so well! Maintenance to playing time is high for sure...and don't forget about the time you spend cleaning after a good day of playing. Cleaning out the pneus from a direct hit is always fun!

That was my first thought too 👍

            Autococker 2.0 = sovereign
            Autococker 2.1 = blazer

Going to say the blazer being 94 is a Glenn fairy tale... they popped up in like 97/98 catalogs first.

Do the deadlywind valve can replace the 3way? Raise your hand.
The hpa air can be routed from the asa without affecting the regulated vasa supply all front block can be relocated to the frame.

                Parts delete list
                front block
                cocking rod
                ram rod
                3way rod
                backblock
                ram body
                ...

The ram can actuate an automag sear looking plate on a pivot to slide in a groove located next to the actual sear and actuate the hammer directly, a groove is added to the hammer to connect.

nb. by having a pivot the.lenght of the ram can be reduced. Ram is now fusioned into the spine of the frame

                Bonus:

thinking of a two stage trigger pull
stage 1- trigger pulled midway -cocking
stage 2- trigger pulled full -fire
stage 0- cocking of the bolt is done on spring (magnet..?)

let me know if that make sense

Nothing is moving the bolt now.

                  Also, go do it

Also also, it sure is easy to fit everything in that frame when you scale all the parts down in Photoshop. Good luck making that all fit and maintain any kind of structural rigidity in real life though.

Even if somehow you managed to somehow make this work, I wouldn't buy one, can you imagine trying to do any work on any of the stuff in that frame? No thanks

You'll have blowback with out means of holding a bolt in place.
