i've been thinking about what Airsoft might have looked like, if the paintball industry top designers got a hold of Airsoft first ? I don't know the history of Airsoft too well, but it seems to have been influenced by Larping right from it's inception, and as such cramming BB shooting hardware into firearm designs not intended to shoot or load a tiny, light round projectile.
If the best paintball designers were to design an airsoft gun from the ground up, and the main design goal was to simply shoot airsoft BB's reliably, fast, and safely with good ergonomics and high capacity , what would that airsoft gun have looked like? Would it be a hopper fed design? Or would it be box mag fed, with some Tom Kaye miniaturized tiny warp feed? Would Jack Wood design a mini gamma core just for airsoft? Or would Simon Stevens design the smallest , autococking, closed bolt airsoft gun ?
