Dead tank

Alright question to the tinkerers here. I have an old angel air tank circa 2001. It is obviously dead but I want to breathe new life into it as a carrier for my freak inserts. What methods have people used to cut a tank down, that yields are fairly clean result? I have access to an industrial band saw. I’m just not sure if the teeth would make a ragged edge out of the carbon fiber.

would a cutoff wheel on a grinder yield a better result?

I’ve cut a ton of carbon fiber hockey sticks with a regular hacksaw and always got clean results. I’ve never cut into a tank though.

I dont think the blade will hold for long ... I had to sharpen the cutoff blade 4 or 5 times for the 1 tank ...

What type of cutoff blade did you use? Did you have to sand or cleanup the carbon at all?

how did you end up securing the top back on? I’ve been thinking of adding a lip to the print I can make a friction fit with. Would love to find a way to figure a latch and hinge though.

also best way to remove a reg without buying a removal tool?

IIRC, X used a parting tool on his lathe.

I literally take a vice and leave it open enough to slip the reg into from a side. I then rotate slowly til the gage jams on one jaw, and the fill nipple on the other. Then load it up and turn. most break loose pretty easy. There's a frlew I have where the regs didn't budge. You can scratch them this way, but Idont care you much.
