Looks at a keyboard…looks at a gun…nope! You’re missing the point. Just because someone can run 100m faster than anyone that doesn’t mean they are already as good as they can be at running 1000m. There are few things that don’t improve with practice and keyboards and guns use the hand in very different ways.

Max finger speed for typing isn’t even relevant since when typing it’s about tracking and micro planing where the next few keys are going to be in a sequence of 1000s of presses of 100 different keys. A gun is the same trigger over and over and over with the same few fingers on just one hand, max speed, no steering. It’s not a very technical skill but it is a skill and people do get better with practice…not practice with a TV remote or a Sega Genesis or just any thing with any kind of button but with a gun.

Unless I misunderstood the study they weren’t testing typing speed just using a keyboard for someone to repetitively hit the button for testing. Sure rather are some ergonomic differences but as far as I can tell being in a shooting position is actually slower than in a proper typing position.

Yeah I have to agree with this, typing is pattern recognition not pure speed and you are also using the tips of your fingers to push rather than the pads to pull. It's very different movements so making a leap to, "all markers above x bps must have bounce because people pushing a keyboard can't manage it" is along the lines of saying cars can never accelerate faster than semi trucks because they both have tires.

Just because they are both forms of electronic buttons doesn't mean everything else is equal

I shoot way more paint consistently my Emek then I do with my electo caped at 10.5 🤔 not really sure what I can shoot never cared to test that theory. But I can tell how fast a marker is shooting BPS wise by sound sig. I can definitely hit 10 easy with my setup.

Not that it really matters how fast you can shoot the average player shooting any of the new mechs can hold a lane just as good as any capped electro.

I think my Virtue clock dose BPS I should test this out. I will make sure my big tank is full after playing this weekend.

The people back in the day hitting “15bps” semi were markers with pull multiplier cheater boards and or bouncy triggers. This is why capped ramping became a thing and became a standard.

I absolutely notice a difference when my board is capped at 10, 11, or 12 BPS on my B2Ks, and I always run those in pure semi-auto. If you set it up correctly, the triggers can get SUPER bouncy on those. I had one that was so bouncy it would completely run away and only stoped firing when the trigger was held down. Obviously I tuned it down a lot because that was just flat out unsafe, but if I have a good feel for the gun and it has even a little bit of bounce, I can pretty easily maintain a solid 11-12 BPS for extended periods. I've also noticed that if I want to get any kind of speed at all out of my fingers, I can't wrap my thumb around the grip frame or have any kind of weight on my trigger hand.

This is from a few weeks ago, capped at 11 BPS in pure semi-auto mode, with only a little bit of bounce.
