Fastest you've messed it all up

Wether it was a marker going down right before the start of a match because you had to futz with it in the pits. Or getting a marker back from a fresh new anno job just to drop it and f*** it all up. Tell us all stories of your greatest paintball blunders... that you are brave enough to tell!

ill go first (oh boy I really didn't want to tell this one till i was able to make it right)

so the story starts with me finding a basically never used raven primal for sale on letgo (original box and an unopened spare parts kut and all the tools and papers) with orings turned to goo and buying it for $50 (OH YES, this story involves me f****** up a RAVEN PRIMAL). I so sowwy

so this piece of garbage, awkward, useless with anything inside his hand besides someones pecker, decides after probably the 15th bong hit of the day "Oh I cAn TaKe ThiS aPaRt MySeLf AnD gEt It ShOoTiNg" (let be real, even sober he still couldn't have fixed it)

no I didn't drop it, no I didn't break it trying to put it back together. Nope! I just got frustrated once i got 75% through dissembling it because it wasn't going well and i went "F*** this noise im gonna go listen to diary of a madman". And guess who never "got around to fixing it later"

So around and around from house to apartment to another apartment. A few of the pieces got lost along the way. One of my greatest failures in my book. Forget the tomatoes and just cave my head in with a vm68. I deserve it.

If you ever find most of those Raven Primal parts and want to sell them, let me know. I need a few things for mine.

As for my biggest fsck up (that I can immediately think of). I was about to start a game, took a few test shots, and nothing came out the end of the barrel. Took a few more shots and paint starts oozing out of everything. Walk off the field to figure out what was going on. I'd gotten sidetracked, and forgot I was cleaning my barrel, and in a rush for the next game I put my barrel on with a paper towel stuffed in it.
      I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

I was demoing my RT’d & Flatlined A-5 one time & ripped on it right off the bat... with the barrel cover still on it.

Back when I was pretty new to the sport and at a big game, I had just gotten a CO2 fill and wanted to get it up to temperature quickly so I could chrono and trust that it wouldn’t drift up. So I put the tank in my pocket and held it with the marker pointing at the sky.

About 2-5 min later the burst disk blew and I wound up missing the first game iirc cause I needed to get it replaced. Luckily it was a big game so there was a tech that had some and he replaced it for free.

Sooooo, I moved a few years ago and was living in an apartment while house hunting and I ran out of scotch so I looked for the closest liquor store. Upon visiting said liquor store I realized this particular store probably sold more King Cobra than fine scotch but alas they actually had a bottle of Ardbeg. After getting it from behind the counter and them looking at me like was a crazy person for buying a $65 dollar bottle of anything I drove home to my new 3rd floor apartment and really had to pee. I rushed up the stairs, placed the bottle in its tube on the kitchen counter and rushed to the bathroom while promptly knocking said bottle off the counter onto the floor. The bottom broke cleanly off the bottle and now my little apartment smelled like very peaty scotch. After a quick bathroom break and about 15 minutes of a sad cleanup, back to the same liquor store I go and buy another bottle while getting ever more looks from the people behind the counter. The second bottle survived, but I did drop and break the first glass I grabbed to pour said scotch into.

And that is about as quickly as I ever messed it all up.

Got blackout drunk the night before a game. Woke up late and scrambled to get my stuff together. Went into the guest room where my workbench and markers are.

My marker was COMPLETELY disassembled. EVERY screw, EVERY pin, EVERY o-ring... i guess i thought it would be a good idea to clean it the night before a game and never got around to re-assembly.

when i was in high school i replaced my gauge cluster in my car and paid extra for a really clean example. When installing it, i dropped it. It cracked...

nothing special. Was in highschool. It was a 97 saturn. and gawd did i love that car. 5spd, rack and manual steering. Partially balanced crank with no balance shafts and a manual throttle. Yeah, i get it, it was a crap car but man oh man it was a blast to drive. the RPM's would fall off a cliff when you lifted. blew the 1st motor and put a bigger on in from another model. then grenade'd the trans. Would up going through 2 engines, 2 transmissions, and 4 clutches. Had a stage 2 kevlar clutch, underdrive pulleys, larger TB, inake, tri-y header, and a whole bunch of other goodies. it wasnt "fast" but it was fun to drive since it so analog.

This is a little bit of a different flavor, but whenever I clean my gear at the end I always cock the guns and shoot them, partially to move the oil around the chambers, but partially just cause I gotta. My brain was on vacation the last time I cleaned my cocker pump and when I did the air-free cock'n'shoot process I forgot that the HPR on there holds some air... also there was a ball in the breach... also my hand was on the tip of the barrel to dampen the sound... shot my palm at point-blank with a gun tuned to 300 fps. That one stung for a good week or so.

I did this to my pegboard at home with my Karni pump. I try to be good and double check there's no left over air in the pump after I use it, giving it a couple extra pumps to empty all the air out. Didn't do that this time and shot my pegboard wall from about an inch away. I'm still finding random bits of pink paint on things.

My quickest, i think, is when i pulled my thumper out of my bag and said to myself "lets put a CO2 on there" ...
It shot great at the pit ... flawlessly even ... but between the pit and the start of the game it locked up ... took me 3 month to track down the failure ...

Yeah I was pretty bummed, and I certainly couldn't afford a second attempt, so I had to patch it and let it go. Later someone put out their cigarette on it and melted a chunk..

I’ve removed channel locks and pliers from my paintball work bench because every time I get impatient with a regulator, ram, or any other round part I’ll wrap it in tape then go at it with my pliers, promising to be careful this time. Inevitably, I’ll push it a little too far and hear the telltale SCRRCCCHHHHH of the pliers breaking through the tape and biting straight through anno into aluminum.

I always get it taken apart though...

Two weekends ago I was playing a 3 man event. Made finals and was playing great. We were first seed going into finals and had to beat the 2nd place team one time for first. My hopper battery’s die in the middle of a 1v1 battle. Had the guy dead to rights wide open to. Best part is I was loaning my marker out to a friend for several points. Worst timing ever.
I needed it to shoot one more paintball... ahhhh

I usually put new batteries in my stuff before an event just to be safe. But was running late for the first point. So I was like ahh I will be good.... yeah not so much

Lost the 1v1 and took second because I couldn’t get a ball out the breach. So close yet so far. We laughed about it afterwards. Top 4 teams all were guys from my team that we drew from a hat the night before. I was pretty ruthless talking crap after winning last years Thanksgiving 3 man. So now I’m really getting my balls busted.

I've had the batteries on a Rotor fail several times on the field. However, I must hasten to add that the reason is due to the fact that the batteries in a Rotor lasts forever, so when they finally go out, it always comes as a surprise.
