When Freedummy made a bunch of these years ago I bought a lot. I still have some but now I just use tape. It’s nearly free and always works.

But Scotch tape? Clear tape? No.That’s for Xmas presents and pretty much nothing else. It’s not durable and it’s a PITA to remove. It has to be black vinyl electrical tape, about 2cm into the barrel, either one wide piece or three little strips if you want to get fancy. I’ve also thought about using aluminum tape, the really good 3M stuff, the stuff without the peel off backing. I figure that would be smoother and thinner and maybe better for certain situations.

That foil tape I bet would stick good. Or packing tape I bet would work.

Those Freedummy detent rings worked amazing. I tried printing them but could never get them right. I know he used two different material types. I wonder if RedLeader could laser cut ones for the Phantom breach.

Going to try it next weekend using electrical tape. The redleader detents works fine in my s6.5 but my karni throws the rounds right past it. I did talk the field into ordering me some different paint as well so maybe that will make a difference. Apparently hk makes some mag feed quality paint, no idea what that means but the field thinks it will be better? I just wish I could go back to the old days of marblalizers just working perfectly in my markers.

Magfed quality paint probably just means a thicker shell to hold up better under spring tension in the magazines. Its probably going to be bouncy due to the thicker shell.
