I've been shooting a 1.6 this tournament season I picked up used from a teammate. The AT pipe never bothered me and I like the way the grips feel. VS the geo3.5 that uses extremely similar grips the LVs have the flat bit where the LPR used to mount that allows you grip up on the gun compared to the geo where the barrel is right there. Even with big hands the pre2 LVs feel good.
I am not in the market for a new tourney marker (thats a lie. I'm building an eblade cocker) but if I were, I would get a 1.6, I just like the old grips too much, way more than a geo 4 or cs2 style grips even with my big hands.
With that being said, if you've got the budget, the LV 2 is really tempting since the AT pipe seems to be the last relic of what linked the LVs to older poppets and now its gone and better ergos have replaced it. Along with the 'noid upgrade that made the LV1.6 a better option for longevity compared to the older models the 2 is a good step. I'm not crying over the wired eyes either.
