Okay so I figured it out, looks like valken raised the price by 20 dollars and does not want the old price to be seen.

They're killing themselves with that price. DYE mags and cocker threads are good upgrades, but at that price most people will just buy a TMC.

Yeah, considering what the original price was going to be ($190) I don't blame people for looking elsewhere.

But I do still think there is value in an out-the-box FS shooter even at that price considering the next one up is the Valken M17, which is $350. I'm not completely turned off yet.

I suspect you are right. When you put the two side by side I would bet a lot of players would pick the tmv based on the looks as well.

I just realized how close the mag fed markers are:
Stormer: 189.95 (Tippman Valve, Tippman Mags, 98C Barrel)
TMC: 279.95 (Tippman Valve, Tippman Mags, 98C Barrel)
Ripsaw: 339.95 (Tippmann Valve, Dye Mags, Cocker barrel)
M17: 349.95 (TIPX Valve, Guessing Proprietary Mags, A5 threads)
T15: 549.95 (T15 Valve, T15 Mag, Automag twist lock style barrel)
EMF100: 718.75 (Gamma core, Dye Mags, Cocker thread)
Dye Dam: 1499.95 (Dye Spool Valve,Dye Mags, Cocker thread)
I tried to match like for like with magazines and with the tricked out stormer being the one I used for reference. I am sure that I have missed quite a few and that some of those the Dam in particular would not be considered a starter marker.
I did not include sale prices even though at the time of this writing the TMC 224.95, and EMF 669.95 are on sale. I also did not show the best deals since there are some sites that are showing pre order items for cheaper ans has the T15 for 399.95.

The T15 takes a twist lock barrel that is for the T15 it is very similar to the old school twist automags but no I do nto think an Automag twist lock barrel will work in a T15. I will edit my post to reflect that.
The Ripsaw's msrp is from their site and matching the closest to the stormer. There is a cheaper version with just Gas through grips or Air through stock that does not have a stock, front shroud, or flip up sites. I do not know the cost of those accessories and did not want to match them exactly since everyone has their own preference so I found similiar models. I will update the post with links to the markers.

It looks as though the version you're looking at includes a 13ci tank, which would account for the much higher MSRP.

You are absolutely right, it does include a tank there are others in the list i did that include tanks as well. The M17, and the EMF 100, do as well. I do not know the stocks, and the front shroud that work with the Ripsaw yet and wanted to try and match the stormer as best as possible.

I wish that Inline bolt system would die... Or evolve. Leave Valken with the old tech and Tippmanns innovate and impress once again.

I don't mind the inline bolt system, I have a Bolt pump that has been nothing if not reliable.

Hard disagree. The inline blowback platform has been the standard for rentals & newbies for many years for many good reasons. Even with the Emek there are still good reasons to use 98s & their clones for rentals.

As for it "evolving"? Not sure what can be done, but I wouldn't mind seeing what more can be done with it. It's an excellent platform. But with GI owning Tippmann, I do not see that happening unless it's Valken or some other company doing it. GI, as part of an equity firm, is cash-cowing the brand & I don't see that changing.

I guess what I mean is, be made more efficient. Lighter, smoother. Tippmann used to be the gods of drop in parts. Imagine a modern spool-valve type drop in? A new engine. I remember opening my 98 and seeing all the cut-outs ready for the next drop in to take the field- be it reactive trigger or electronic board and I tried them all, and enjoyed the mods. The latest inline bolt system markers don't have those electronic or reactive options and technology has moved on leaving them behind. All you can add is weight.
