I read in another part of the web that this was actually being shown off at a booth at Shotshow this year. Maybe that means they're trying to break into the LL market, which would explain the changes and the fact they slapped Milspec on so many of the parts.

Ergonomically, absolutely, but the backbottle layout and AR-style controls are what a majority of the milsim market wants, and the tank is at least dropped down a bit which will help with mask clearance.
I do think having all the air-plumbed parts slide out of the back in one unit is pretty trick, and a unibody aluminum upper is an obvious upgrade.

Someone on the Reddit thread pointed out that this configuration might allow Eclipse to enter the very lucrative Less Lethal market for law enforcement and home defense.

The FN303 didn't survive the less lethal market, I don't know how this would be different. That said, I'd rather see cops with these than Tippmans =P

My understanding is that the FN303 more or less created the .68 caliber Less-lethal market.

I think you guys are missing how much of an improvement this inline setup is for routine maintenance.

Real steel compatibility is what the market wants. It not for you guys you want a mag fed marker with a traditional paintball ergonomics the emf 100 already fills your niche

Yeah the fact it uses ar grips and hand guards is cool if you are trying to “clone” a real steel rifle. I personally don’t see the appeal but I’m sure many will.
