I think the ball valves were part of it, but powerhouse was the nail in the coffin. The haymakers ate into ninjas sales hard. Then ninja attempted to sue them, and I believe they lost. I'm willing to bet the legal fees took them out.

Ninja "won", but that doesn't mean that the legal cost didn't still burden them, and could have played a role.
