Between the new thin frames, the new QLS frames, the different colors they'll be offering, including G1 foam on them, and what looks to hopefully be a better skirt shape on the Proflex lowers (the GI molds from the last several years are hideous and don't compare to the original)...the Proflex is better than ever.

Including the G1 foam on them is such a massive win. I love that foam. I've even been putting it on my og Vents.Between the new thin frames, the new QLS frames, the different colors they'll be offering, including G1 foam on them, and what looks to hopefully be a better skirt shape on the Proflex lowers (the GI molds from the last several years are hideous and don't compare to the original)...the Proflex is better than ever.Comment

Wait, so, at cup *three* new JT compatible frames were launched?
The HK, the QLS, and the thins?
Someone please lmk what's the difference between the QLS and the thins. They seem basically identical. Are they made by different companies?Comment

Yes.
QLS = Quick change Lens System. Think Flex-X style frames but better, and they fit the proflex. Look similar to the current "thick" frames.
Thins = new mold of the classic thin design. Nothing revolutionary, just the thin look.Comment

Got it.
I have this odd desire to try the new hk frames with an OG bottomComment

If I'm understanding correctly that the new HK RMX frames take JT lowers, that'll be a huge win for them. Obviously I haven't handled either of them, but the lens change looks way better on it than the JT QLS.
I've never been a huge Proflex fan, but this is making it a lot more interesting to me.Comment

Of all the releases. I am most interested in the infamous highlighter green frames. I sent a link to my wife as its too close to X mas to buy myself anything. Maybe Ill get a pair this year.
And I wanna put them on my white hk rmx lowers. I got white lowers for the rare occasion we play glow ball. That frame, and a little uv reactive paint on the whites should do just fine.Comment

This would be amazing. I was wondering who to contact to see if they would do the all hard plastic ones for like paintball retro. I would love an all red and an all brown one. It seems people are getting into the brown colors these days for some reason.
I for one would love a Proteus re-release. I'd even be happy with them replacing the rubber bottom portion with plastic. The problem I have with just about every mask out there is that the straps run over the ear such that tightening the strap pulls the sides in tighter onto the ear. With the strap on the proteus being attached behind the ear , it was easy to get a tight mask with zero ear pressure.Comment

I want Classic Proshield bottoms in new colors. If I could get red or purple that would make me moist. Especially now with the release of new thins.Comment

The hydra lowers are shield esque and clear. Apparently they take dye good as well. -
I'd love some new production highlighter bottoms, in either style, just for when I volunteer as a ref.
I had heard that the molds for the original Proshield bottoms with the horizontal vents were destroyed years ago. -
So were the thin frames. Today it would be so easy to 3D scan a NIB part and make a mold especially for a company that specializes in making injection molds. Modify the logo and you would be good to go. The issue is scaling the production large enough to justify the mold production cost. It’s never been easier but the overhead is still high. My understanding T2 fronted the capital to bring them back and they hammered him pretty good to do it. Time will tell if it pays off I’m sure the quick change frames are going to cut into that. Since they are not much thicker then the classic throw back frames. But if T2 drops custom colors even just play off what’s already available it will be a big hit. They slow roll them so people have time to recover from the latest purchase.

The Hydra look goofy to me. They are much longer. + people want insane money for them.
My dyed highlighter bottoms look better IMO. But whenever you dye you have to keep doing them since the dye fades over time. This is the 2nd time I did them this photo was taken right after. They fade to a lighter color by the end of the season and I have to redo them.
I would love a classic shape shield bottoms in a dark red like the red nose on the new masks. I won’t pay JT Hype prices to get a pair of Original Red Proshield that’s just stupid to me. I have thought about Cerokote but since Bearfoot closed up it’s expensive and nobody will Guarantee their work will hold up.

Welp, santa seemed to think i wanted a QLS for Christmas...I was excited at the idea of an easier lens change system but was certainly not in need of a new set. Anyway, out of the blue there they were on Christmas morning, and I love a nice surprise....so with an open mind I opened them up.....
... and I'm happy to say, I'm warming up to them, I'm a clean goggle freak and these are far easier to deal with without feeling like I'm about to tear my precious OG olive thins every time I need to clean up a puddle of paint from a face shot. I have a giant head and find they are super comfy, I don't notice the weight, though I think I'd prefer the stiffer G1 foam. I don't know what they were thinking with the olive color - its like nothing I've seen before and I just don't get why JT cannot bring itself to do a proper olive again, but I'm having fun building a new set around them. Meanwhile here they are on misfits olive/black ice bottoms, where they might stay. JT did do tan/black ice bottoms which might be a nicer combo.
