    paintball gun lease??!

cant wait to see the price cranked up for the people dumb enough to pay for this.

Anybody want to take bets on if they will try to patent this, it is the first paintball lease program after all. Very innovative.

          Wow, just, wow.

Apparently icd had too much of a court presence over the e marker patent so this time they will be going after people with even less legal defense

NZXT did this with gaming PCs. Not surprising from DLX, gotta remember it's just the new Smart Parts.

Genuinely curious, from a legal standpoint what do you see?

My practice/exp has nothing to do with this area of law. Without the fine print, there isn't much I can comment on. But the last two sentences of the vague terms bother me.

First, it mentions that minors will need a parent to cosign. That immediately sets alarm bells off that this program is possibly predatory and aimed at children.

Second, it's got a typo. This seems minor, and it is to most people. But any official representation or statement that has been vetted by a lawyer (who gives a damn) shouldn't have typos yet this multi million dollar company rolls out a new scheme to the public and doesn't notice the typo? Just makes it seem half baked.

Third, paintball markers can be dangerous. I guess this is only a detriment to he company and isn't really a bad thing for anyone potentially injured by a leased marker, as any personal injury attorney would be thrilled to add a corporation with deep pockets, and their insurance policy, as a defendant to a case.

if you can do it with a vehicle, or a home why can't you do it with a paintball gun?

                        /s.

Are they going to charge for a scratches and dents if you turn it back in after a year? Overall, I don't think it is a horrible idea considering they come out with a new model ever year.

Man I hadn't even thought about that. You would need to check and see somehow if any luxe you want to buy is still under lease or if the seller actually owns it

Can you imagine the repo man knocking on doors looking for paintball gear?

That's another thought though, let's say a lease is 2000, if SP sends out the repo guy to get one back, how much does that cost them and how much can they sell it for used? Would it even be sensible to try and repossess markers for non payment?

I expect the company will take a credit card as collateral and simply charge it in full if you don't fulfill the terms of the lease. Just a guess though
