The entire point of FPO is that there isn’t a choice. Many (most?) fields in the US have deals in place where you buy GI paint or you GTFO. The paint is typically whatever is least likely to break in a Tippmann. Typically this is stuff that sucks major for pumps because it bounces and sucks major to be hit by because bounces hurt.In my opinion, FPO isn't a big issue, if at all... PROVIDED there are more options for those that want it. And that isn't always the case.
I've been out of the paintball loop for a while now. Are GI and HK enforcing any sort of requirement that establishments carry ONLY their paint? If so, that needs to stop.
If this new paint shoots anything like the All-Star I was using 20 years ago, I'll keep an eye out for it and buy it. Paint quality (and my own body not wanting/able to play) are what's been keeping me off the field the last couple years.Comment

Everyone has gone FPO because it makes more money in a struggling industry. The paint sales more than offset the people who won’t come because its FPO.
It lowkey makes the games more competitive when everyone is shooting from the same batch or two of paint, and nobody is bringing rocks from amazon or walmart.
However if you’re a paintball field, FPO or not, the paint needs to be good. If you don’t have good paint, going BYOP isn’t going to save you, getting good paint will.
