I think thats your best bet, but I fail so many prints it will still be a guess by the end unless I had a benchmark for an empty spool

,Yeah, I'm collecting several partial spools. I'll have to start doing a better job of estimating my remaining filament. I think I'm going to weigh new spools on a baker's scale and label them at least.
    Maybe some are already labeled???:/

After some positive feedback at work, I added a second step bit holder, for 1 3/8, and I opened the other step bit hole up to allow for 7/8 or 1/2", added a 7/16 bit holder for KO pre drills. Moved some stuff around, added company logo, chamfered the edges.

Shes a printing... my spool may run dry, but it is what it is.

Dried my old filaments, dusted the printers off, 20 hours in, and they look good enough for a first prototype.

My wife ironically got me a filament dryer for X mas, so I'm trying my rolls now. If I can find my usb to micro sd adapter . ill have 2 blocks made when I get back to work.

I had some brittle PLA that I dried over night that came out well. It was 3mm, which I think needs more time than 1.75mm

Not yet, but its on my list of needed items. My filament is like brittle though, so not sure if drying this stuff would even work out.

Haven't hit print yet, but I have been trying to teach myself fusion 360 for a while now. I used some of the Christmas downtime to work on this pet project. My first homemade model.

I work at a panel shop, and we use a select few drills and a step exclusively. A standard drill block was overkill. All of the drill tap holders on thingiverse are mainly metric. Or are modeled flat. I wanted to save some space. So here is my v1 rendition of my drill block. #4- 1/4 drills and taps. M4 and m5 sets ( I'm not sure what drills we have in house for the metric taps so I have yet to label those holes.

A few large bits for through drilling stuff, and a step bit holder.

Im too excited not to share, but all my filament is months old. I may need a new spool before I attempt a print.

If the concept proves to work like I assume it will, I will work on printing one for everyone at my shop.

Not a fan of bevertails and hated how sharp the back of the gunfighter frame is. I have been thinking about this part for awhile. Finally got around to it.

Hah, thanks! I used a tap on it already. I also ground the breech mouth a little so that the barrels seated at the bolt side. My other two didn't have that problem.
Working...
