    POP Contest: Cuda’s Poo Flinger

After trying to find a neglected and abuse gun locally and striking out, I’ve turned my attention to my old BT-4. Used to have a marijuana camo job, but took a grinder to it so I could could lend it to my cousin’s 12 year old. Since it needs a nee paint job anyways, might as well use it for the build!

Paint is coming off now, so soon I will get to learn to paint a paintball gun. And as an added bonus my six year old daughter has taken great interest in this build (kids love poop!) so she’ll be my assistant and artistic advisor for this built.

Nice. My 5yo daughter is all about poop too. Good idea, getting a poop consultant.

My daughter really wanted to help, so had her help take the gun apart. Lord only knows what she’s told her teacher at school. “I’m helping daddy build a poo gun!”

‘cause the BT is stripped bare! We’re supposed to be getting some cold weather soon, so the BT may be staying in the buff for a while.

Need to figure out out how to modify my loader. Been that this is MCB maybe make it 10rd tube friendly.

Yeah, I believe I managed to flag my own comment. The joys of using one’s phone to post on MCB. And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for those meddling mods!

My next step involves taking guidance from this lovely craft idea website. Who knew there are so many “how to make a doll toilet” videos..., but can’t argue with their method!

How to make a doll toilet - Recycling - Really Works - EP 720. In this video we will show you how to make a "working" toilet for your doll. The toilet is m...

also happy these video didn’t turn into any sort of weird fetish stuff... although I only looked at the top few results. You can take your own risks.

So while other builds are using “actual machinery” and skill in their builds I’m using DIY Barbie furniture videos.

I’m planning on using some machinery later in my build. I’ve got a specific vision that relies more on humour than skill, but I’m intending on learning some new things along the way. It’s all in good fun, and I am impressed by the skills of the other POP contestants as there are some very awesome builds. It’s been fun participating so far and hopefully I can match my artistic (used loosely) vision!

Just cut off the plastic collar and the metal rod, make sure The cut is low enough not to interfere with the cocking action.

As I jump around on this build more than Kris Kross I’ve now moved into working on my hopper for the build. I have planned on using an Empire Magna I received in a deal, and after finally getting around to test it realize it’s missing the floor panel that goes in the nose of the hopper. Sort of lame compared but whatever, I’m up for a challenge. The hopper works at least

Well, I haven’t got a lot of material to work with, but the kids had Happy Meals last night, so there’s some scrap cardboard kicking around. A little bit of cutting and trimming and I manage to make a floor tray. Add a little tape and it’s good to go.

Ran a speed test and found the hopper just jams as the feedway was integrated into hopper floor. A little more donated Happy Meal box and some experimenting has given me a fully functional hopper now. Feeds well, no jams. Not bad for cardboard and painter’s tape! If I need to I can use plastic from the Barbie toilet to make things a little strong but I’m pleasantly surprised at how well this has worked. Going to need to figure out the logistics of mounting the toilet into the hopper next. A little worried about the height of things....

And for those that were curious it’s a Jurassic Park Happy Meal... I may need to find a lawyer doll for the toilet....

Well, likely not the best paint job ever, but that was pretty easy! First coat is on and to quote Kid Rock: “I’m going paint his town and and paint his gun white!”

I’ve also conclude that the Empire Magna isn’t going to work. Just way too big when the prop is mounted to the top. So that means I’m building a custom hopper now too!

Using the black pocket hopper as my template I’ve turning my prop into a hopper. I’ve elongated and reinforced the feedneck using a 10 round tube. Need to have a decent balls stack. With a little thickening of the tube it now sits nicely in my feedneck. Capacity sits at 40 balls currently, so same as the the pocket hopper. Feeds about as poorly as well, so going to have to get creative on fixing the jamming issues.

Mini update: I’m continuing the painting process adding a few coats to ensure a consistent whiteness. Making sure the top, bottom and front and back are properly painted. Need to make a decision on painting the grip frame or the grips but will do a mock-up once I’m happy with the body.

It’s Friday night, and I don’t know about the rest of you but tonight I’m going to play with my balls! Have a few minutes to work on my hopper design. Apparently shampoo bottles aren’t tested for their ball dropping ability, so I’m going to have to think of something.

So starting with some baseline drop tests, my feed port jams more than a Bob Marley song (we’re jamming, I hope
                      you like jamming too!).

First things first, ball stack. These BT aren’t speed demons but it’s still nice to have a decent ball stack to keep things flowing. So this little crapper has a 5 ball stack, before the jammed starts. The bottle also feeds best from the front of the hopper more so than the rear, so so need to keep the balls jamming at the front. My initial test I put a little teepee on the front of the feed, but that jammed it worse than raspberry jam! (Cough, cough Spaceballs reference). So I need to move my de-jammer towards the back of the hopper.

And there is what I’ve come up with:
Click image for larger version Name:	B25C8E0E-F6D9-4D87-B879-20E4ADC97710.jpeg Views:	0 Size:	25.2 KB ID:	57981
                      Another shot:
Click image for larger version Name:	1AC11FFB-5246-4A4C-9F8C-19952DF07ED2.jpeg Views:	0 Size:	22.8 KB ID:	57983
Yup, it’s just a little strip of plastic wedged into a space between the 10 round tube and bottle’s opening. It prevents balls from jamming the tube and directs balls towards the front of the hopper where it feeds better.

So, being that this is MCB, and I did promise to play with my balls, I ran several very unscientific drop tests to see if there was any benefits to my little tab. So ran a battery of tests using 20 balls, 25 balls and 30 balls both with and without the tab. Results were minimal with the 30 ball but we’re much better with the 20-25 ball range. I’ll have to test more once the hopper is mounted to the gun, but happy with results. Next steps is to build the hopper into the Barbie toilet!

And painting take forever. Need to plan a little better and use something bigger than a shoe box to paint in.... I’m tempted to do some parts gloss black as well. It’s easily in my budget as I’ve only bought 1 spray can and 1 plunger, so about $35 CAD.

I’ll be re-christening this with a new name upon completion of the build as well. It’s on theme for both the contest and my colour combo.

Progress! Slowly but surely I’m getting bits and pieces painted. Did some minor internal modifications to see if so can get my desired effect:

Removed the hammer oring and added a small oring on the valve pin. I don’t necessarily want to stop air flow, just reduced blowback to essentially make it bolt action. If the o-ring shuffle doesn’t work I’ll with JB weld and sand the pin to drill a dime and go very old school.

Pretty happy with the overall look so far as I continue to paint things on small scale. I have likely sourced my piece de resistance tonight as well, so I’m pretty excited!

Body is coming out pretty well, just need to attach the handle to the rocket cock...
