    .673 barrel blanks on amazon

Picked up some 17mm tube from amazon to see if it would work. It did. Didnt bother honing or anything. Wanted to see how well it shot with minimal work. I didnt do a whole heap of testing by clamping it to a bench or anything but i would say the accuracy is "normal"

...wanna make some freak inserts for us? Seems like there's a gap between the DLX/GOG/SP alum/stainless and JeeperCreeper's brass offerings😉

I am slowly becoming one of those people, I think the only time I've ever seen a significant improvement with accuracy on any level in paintball is shooting first strike over common paint.

Years ago when paint was much higher quality was a different story than now. Now I'm happy to just not get a square.

I'm with you. There was a time barrels could make a difference, but that time is long gone with the quality of paint we get.

Sure, a tube is a tube but that’s a cool diy barrel 👍🏼

            Do it.

Even if its an SL 68 barrel, it could be a lot of fun to make.

Would you happen to know where different barrel thread specs are? That would be super helpful

The SL 68-II barrel is .835 OD for 1.5". No threads as its just pinched. In addition to that your want a chamfer on the inner edge of the barrel, you dont need to get too precise with it but something close to a 30 degree chamfer should suffice, feel free to experiment on that.

I've always wanted to try a barrel that is a smaller bore down the complete length

If I had the tools I would do it as well

Way back when, the Lurker Paintball Eigen Barrel (V1) was a 1-piece, 14" single bore at .678 That was definitely underbore at the time.

If it’s measuring .6735 direct with calipers, it’s probably actually a couple thou larger than that.

calipers measure round IDs poorly. you’d want to try some bore mics, telescoping bore gauges, or even just using a pair of pin gauges

Made a cheap lapping tool. A few passes with 220 grit to get rid of the lumps and then straight to 1500 to to give it a slight polish. Bores out to around .677 now

no need for a lathe. You could do this with a power drill

I'm planning to run an old flex hone down mine when it comes. Only 2 more weeks on the boat until I can try it out...
