So I’ve had a Minimag for a few months and the composite frame was broke where the thumb screw goes.. I also had a broken mini gs sitting in the ol parts bin. Had the idea right before I fell asleep the other night, wouldn’t it be cool to put the mini frame on the mag?? The next day I dug out the parts and realized the frame screw holes actually line up!
The holes on the mini frame are smaller than the ones on the mag rail, so I put the drill press to them. I also had to drill out for the twist lock pin. It bolted on perfectly! However, the seat actuator pin was too long. Found a screw with the same threads as the pin and it fit perfectly in the back of the mini trigger.
man, this thing rips as a mechanical marker! Put about 3 pods thru it, and I love how it feels. I posted it in the agd group and it got a lot of love, then a couple comments that said they were disappointed it wasn’t electric.. so that brings me to this dilemma
I can design a rail that will hold the top board from the mini gs, that’s no problem. However, I need to source a push/pull solenoid that I can power from the mini board. Pancake solenoids from spyders and tippmann are too fat to fit into the mini frame. Can any of you fellas direct me to a solenoid that is slim enough to fit in the frame, strong enough to actuate the sear? All I’m seeing is 12v tubular push/pull solenoids online, I don’t believe the board will push those. Any help would be appreciated!
