For exqmple.i didnt participate in the last one, but I think it was turn your entry into a firld worthy shooter for $200 max all in. using spare parts you purchased for other projects didn't count toward the cost. nor did any custom work you do yourself.

Just initial purchase, qnd cost of parts purchased specifically for the poo build off.
