Mine did indeed come from AOL days, And rec.sport.paintball, so it’s what we all do sling paint, and the 16. Well back in the 50’s my grandpa started racing Dirt stock cars in Northern NY, his race car number was 16, he was actually one of the founding officers of one of the many sanctioning bodies for dirt racing in the North east.
it’s always been my favorite number. The first thing it went on was my Pinewood derby car, then BMX bike, MX bike, even had race numbers on my first vehicle a CJ7.
It naturally went on my paintball Jersey when speedball took over from woods ball based camo tournaments, my field nickname is actually just my initials RD, but I have rocked 16 on my back in Canada and the US for years.Comment

He asked "looks like you're doing a great job, but are you doing this all by yourself, where's the rest of your crew?" My answer "it's just me by myself, a-crew-of-one." I have been acrewofone on every forum I've joined since then.eBay 2102+/0- Feedback

I use to use my gamer tag. But when MCB got nuked I went to what my teammates call me. I played with the 518 Rubber Ducks. A teammate called me Chucky Ducky and it just stuck.Comment

Back in the day, when I started using AOL and email and playing paintball, I sparred in a "flyweight" division (yeah, I was too little for bantamweight). Made for a good handle, and despite packing on nearly 50 lbs between then and the end of highschool, I kept it.
When MCB 3.0 started, I should have taken the chance to just go by "Nate". Ship sailed, I guess. (Can I retroactively change that?)Feedback

I don't remember why, but I just went with my first name... I guess I wasn't as worried about online security as Axel was. 🙂Comment

My first tattoo was Wile E Coyote.
My maternal grandfather had navy tattoos. He was one of my greatest heros and role models. I wanted ink since I was a toddler because of Grampa Buddy.
Wile E Coyote was relentless and was never defeated by his failures.
I suppose the screen is a reminder to be the best me I can possibly be.Comment
