Looking at it closer it's not a Badger. But it could be Daystate Sam Patriot basically a well-made Monteel clone, with wood furniture likely shotgun foregrip and some wooden Ar style grip to jazz it up.
I'll throw another bit at you: Look at that second photo, and tell me that, if the scale was just a little different, that wouldn't look like a double barrel.
(It's not, and I'm definitely not trying to convince anyone it is... But it you look at it just right... )

The feedneck position clearly makes it more Hammer II than Sterling, though.
I'm certainly no expert on timelines - I first played in 99 or 2000 IIRC - but if you're correct on the chicken-or-egg question, is it possible Kingman borrowed the design from Australia and ditched the pneus?
Edit: one of the above Australian ads is marketing for a big game in 94, plus advertising for the Hammer II. So I guess they were available by then, too be modified into the Huntsman.
Yeah that’s interesting. I was always under the impression the spyder was king man’s 1st offering in 95 and the pumps came later but I guess that is incorrect
Honestly, I had no idea they were in the game that early, either. I was shooting an SL68 rental until I bought my first, which, ironically enough, was a Spyder (compact 2k though). I bet scottieb could tell us what year the old choker screw bodies were made, and we can go from there.
flyweightnate I first saw an article in print for the Spyder late December 1994. I don't know if they were yet released to the public at that time. Mine was purchased the first week of February 1995.
It certainly looks a Hammer II body. Now remember, the Hammer II was intended to compete with the Sterling. There was, for a short time, a semi conversion kit for the Sterling. I remember it being advertised in Smart Parts ads. Here's a pic of a converted Sterling semi. I see similar inspiration to the Huntsman.
