So I would take the loss for the BB. If PayPal approves the return, and the buyer sends it back: you will end up taking the loss for shipping both ways. Shipping costs for the round trip for the whole kit probably exceed the price of the BB. They will deduct the cost of the return shipping label from your account in an “Item Not as Described” (INAS) claim. And then you would still have to re list it and then pay shipping to the new buyer AGAIN. So consider time investment as well. And please note I am not taking sides. Just stating facts. Just learn from this.

Take the “loss” as the price of doing business. And make your listings clearer for future buyers. When you give several options, re iterate with the buyer at the point of sale to make sure they understand what they are getting / not getting with the purchase. And to have a clear paper trail for any potential dubious INAS claims.

Edit: That being said, there’s an outstanding point to consider in determining whether the buyer is abusing PP buyer protections: that is: Mozak doesn’t sell the BB as standalone. So the buyer would have to custom make / machine one. That alone makes it unlikely he is lying about trying to extort you for anything. That alone will make you lose this claim with PayPal. Even though they probably won’t even bother delving into details like this. They normally just side with the buyer in cases like this where there’s so much grey.

His original intention was for me yo Ship yo Superman to get midblocked. I have his DM. So with that being said. He never wanted the Backblock. . Buyer remorse

There’s still a lot of grey. He says “he might send it to get midblocked” and PayPal claim specialists won’t really care. Because there’s too much grey. They look at it as a store return basically. Just like eBay encourages 30 day returns for sellers to become Top Rated. They see it as good customer service even though there is faulty logic there because you are not a transnational corporation like Wal Mart that can absorb shipping costs to buyers so that they can just change their mind for whatever reason. Let alone international shipping costs. This is also why, some people refuse to ship to Canada. Because of the potential complications and associated costs with problem buyers. I know 99% of buyers and canadian MCB members are upstanding community members — but in the past, a few bad apples made people think twice before transacting with canadian members. Especially in the old MCB.

Let me ask you, and sorry if I missed this in the previous posts, is the BB available or are you using it for another build? or does he simply just want to return it now? … regardless if you send the BB?

I definitely see PP favoring Price on this one. The back block is in the original picture, and it would be understood that it would go with the body, regardless of the sellers intentions to maybe chop it up. It was machined to match the body, and you cannot currently buy just the back block. If you intended to keep it, you should have made that more clear. Communication is key, as it's all you have on the internet.

I'm also not saying who is right or wrong here, because I really don't care. I'm just thinking how PP would see it.

The original image did show a back block though, so I'm just curious where it went

The communication from both sides leaves a lot to be desired. I hope you guys can come to a decent resolution.

Your statement about not having purchased a backblock from Mozak seems to be at odds with it being shown in your picture. You apparently had one, did you purchase it from someone else? The lack of a clear direct answer to this makes you look a little sus.

An i was wrong on not payiing his $60 extortion fee. More then ONCE we both said Body only…..

an last did we also forget HESAID HE WAS GETTING MIDBLOCKED. . From the get he had no reason for

a backblock. Hence why the Assclown WANTED BODY ONLY
Problem with this defense is you shipped the front block and vasa. If you only shipped the body and nothing else you would be in the right, and owe him nothing. On Mozak's site, Front block is an extra selection, and you only get a vasa when you select a back block option - it is strange to ship a vasa without a back block, as it is not sold like that. What he wants to do with the body is irrelevant, only what is offered for sale and agreed upon.

The offer is vague but does say "mozak parts," to me that means he wants the body, BB, FB, vasa, not just the body alone. Price $60 sounds high, but you value things x5 compared to the rest of us, so it does not surprise me.

My suggested resolution: You both failed to be clear on this deal and should split the cost to ship the pictured back block to canada.
About a $10 lesson for each. If it makes you feel any better, I had a $300 lesson back in march, won't be mixing up labels again.

Quit trolling, it's not cute in a transaction that you're heavily involved in.

Caretaker keeps leaving the photo of the back block, front block and vasa out of his posts.
Caretaker sent a front block and vasa, which is not "body only".
Caretaker references how Mozak sells stuff on his site, but that wasn't mentioned on HIS sale on THIS site.
Price doesn't want the back block, he wants the money because he wants to midblock, and now he can ask for it because the back block wasn't sent.
A little dirty positioning for the best outcome on Prices side, but I would have expected the back block too after taking about Mozak parts (plural), and receiving Mozak parts (plural).
A little dirty positioning for the best outcome on caretakers side, cherry picking posts to share.
My gut tells me Price is correct to expect more than what was sent.

I respect your opinion but I would rater have the backblock then 60$ I was never offered the BB afterward or anything. Without the backblock the resell value just took a deep dive of half and that is not ok. You can imagine paying 280$ and when you receive it its no more then 140$ after fees. So 60$ is nothing and was an easy way out for him. Actually shoutout to mozak for the work he done and value, machining a block like this is not an easy task and its a lot of operation I wanted one for two yrs and its a nice piece also the slender wire is looking real good better then inception unfortunately not in my price range but props +1 for Mozak

Just so folks know, yes the admins are here... We usually try and let these things play out. Let's not devolve into a trolling thread and not everyone needs to pipe up.

Deal with members or don't deal with members, it's what the feedback threads are for and why you should research whom and what you are buying/selling.

                      Carry on

I feel like we are the jury of peers for this, that's the only reason I chimed in.

I can also speak from experience with my misstep with communication on a previous deal. I learned from my mistake.
