I warmed up to maybe 101 briefly, but mostly around 99.5 the day after #2. Lasted for maybe 4 or 5 hours. The arm was real sore again though, and that lasted around 3 days this time around. This was on Moderna.

Well worth it for the peace of mind though!

On Thursday I’ll be two weeks into my second Fizzer shot, zero symptoms or discomfort of any kind.

I’m WAY late to this thread. Been a lot of fun reading through it.

I got my second Pfizer shot a week ago, so one week to elevated peace of mind. I only had a sore injection site for a day from the first stab. The second lasted a few days longer, and I had joint pain the day after. Washing my hands made my knuckles throb - that was an odd sensation.

My wife has been really hesitant; she just got the J&J today after doing more research on the blood clotting issue that led to the pause a few weeks back. She and I disagree on whether the kids should get the vaccine. Overall they’ll likely be healthy either way, but I’m concerned they could pass it on to someone else who is either hesitant or unable to get vaccinated because of allergies. I love my community too much to be a carrier. I think she’ll come around eventually - she loves our community too, but is concerned about vaccine safety. I get it.

I’m glad this community has been pretty lighthearted about all the silly conspiracies swimming around. The comments about third testicles, Tylenol, and Bill Gates have made me cry from laughing so hard 🤣

So happy that everyone's on board.

I'll throw this out there for everyone: If anyone has any friends or family that are hesitant or have questions, I'd be happy to hop on Zoom with them.

92more days until second shot, hope we get more advanced doses deliveries so it can be had under 60… would certainly help plan things depending what restrictions is still in place.

Yikes, 92 days? Is the supply where you are that low, or is your vaccine designed that way?

It’s to give everyone 1doses when vaccines was limited.
They opened up to 12+ now. They do want to have 75% of 2nd doses by end of august.

I'm fully vaccinated (2 weeks past second dose of Pfizer) as of yesterday, woo!

I didn't have the traditional symptoms exactly, I was super tired the morning after my second dose and midway through the day I started to feel like I was tripping (weird vision, imbalance, hyper sensitivity). Back to 100% the next day.

I'm gonna start hugging all the people

No just supply issues. The government(s) decided to prioritize first doses over full vaccinations. Kinda bs as far as I'm concerned because the vaccines have only about 30% effectiveness against the variants by the time for the second dose comes around.

On another note is it concerning to anyone else how frequently people are getting reactions (however minor)? Of all the shots I've ever got, I can't remember having an adverse reaction of any kind, nor do I remember anyone else having any either. It's not just a matter of it just being over reported in the news compared to others either. It's people I know personally having these reactions.

where did you get this 30% statistic? Which variants? What studies? Which vaccines?

Vaccine injuries are recorded on the VAERS report. They claim only 1-2% of injuries are recorded, but I don't know how true that is. Most of the injuries seem to be excessive soreness and arm swelling. But a few are really interesting, like brain swelling, nerve damage, tremors, blood clots, and very unusual menstruation occurrences (like post-menopausal, and prepubescent).

I know three people that died within a few weeks of the shot. Two were strokes, one was a heart attack. The families think that they had clots from the shots. But who knows.

I try to keep an open mind, and I AM NOT anti-vax. I've gotten hepatitis, pneumonia, and flu shots before, along with tetnus (however it's spelled) and all that back in school. This one is just... Strange.

The rates of occurrence for the various side effects are lower than most other vaccines - there's actually less in these for people to be allergic to, for example. A lot of it is bad reporting and crimes against statistics. Exact same thing happened with the 1976 flu vaccine. Look it up - ended up being a lot of noise over nothing, but you see people cherry-picking and stripping anecdotes of context. The safety records so far are pretty darn impressive, when you look past the overblown reporting.

It's an unprecedented mass campaign. The entire world is trying to get the same shot at once. Maybe there are higher reaction rates than normal but I would guess it's mostly just more opportunities to get a hit

First shot was more violent I guess you could say than my second. First nurse wasn't careful and nailed biceps tendon so it was pretty painful for a few days, wasn't pleasant going in either. Second nurse made sure my arm was relaxed and I honestly did not feel the shot go in at all, no pain afterwards. Second jab was the easiest shot I've taken in my life.

I've been super sick the last few days and because I'm fully vacinated, I'm not concerned that it is Covid. You guys have no idea what a relief this is.

But it’s pretty close to 100% protection against severe illness and death. Not quite, but close.

I understand it's not 100%, but I don't have any major signs of covid, just a nasty cold. A year ago, I would have been completely freaked out, and it would have ended with me siting at home with my family until we got test results.

I'm interested to hear more about those three deaths if you know anything/would be willing to share. Also I'm sorry for your losses, that's a lot of people to lose at once.

They're immediate relatives of friends. Two of whom had health issues that would put them at severe risk if they caught covid. The strokes were women, one in her 50s, the other mid 60s. The heart attack was a male in his 50s.

One woman had horrible COPD and was largely confined to her home with an oxygen machine. Because of her sedentary lifestyle, the stroke (whether or not it was actually caused by a clot) could have very well been a natural occurrence. But some of the family thinks the timing is too close to be a coincidence.

The other woman had asthma, but was otherwise healthy as far as anyone knew.

The guy was overall healthy. A bit overweight, but not obese. Not diabetic, no blood pressure issues, no immunodeficiency, no anything. Worked with his hands, so he got some exercise.

On a brighter note, I know another guy in his mid 40s who got a lung transplant two years ago. He's on immunosuppressants because of it. But he got the shot early on and has been totally fine. He wears an N95 (I think that's the one, it's actually rated for contaminated environments), and washes his hands more than usual now. But he otherwise is living a normal life.

I've gotten it and am fine so far. Just waiting for my commercial of compensation on the TV any day now haha

Any truth to some reports on the spike protein being a toxin? I've heard a couple of virologists from local universities talking about this on a podcast.

Not looking to start anything, just curious and looking for independent verification or negation. No idea on the specifics, just that it's been mentioned.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."
