I wish the 288 GTO Evoluzione would have gotten the chance to race in Group B.

William the Third I didn’t even know about the 288. Looks amazing. But it looks like the wider body is meant for grand touring.

I also learned of the 333 recently while looking at 1/32 slot cars

The 288 GTO Evoluzione was a special variant (much like the F40 LM/Competizione, F50 GT (my all time favorite Ferrari), FXX, etc) of the 288 GTO that was built for Group B. There was going to be at least 20 built, as required by Group B, but only 6 ever got built, as Group B ended up being canceled. The Porsche 959 also suffered a similar fate, as it too was designed for Group B, but never got to race in Group B before it was canceled. The 288 GTO Evoluzione did go on to serve as the prototype for the F40 though.

Ferrari have built some cool cars over the years... all of which I'll never own, or even get to drive.

I want one of these so bad. Throw my dealer plate on the back and call it a day lol

I found a used SR3 for $50K in Nevada but they range from that to 150K+ depending on options and motor they hold all kinds of lap records for non production cars. The old ones use modified Busa engines. Newer use tweaked twin turbo Eco boost motors. They are not street legal unfortunately. But I wonder if you register it as an older homebuilt you could get it threw DMV. The XXR is a track beast!

Radical's RPE-V8 based on two Suzuki Hayabusa engines is one of the best sounding engines I've ever heard.
          Working...
