Or just like...oh idk stop trading options? Nothing wrong with good old fashioned going long and holding on blue chip companies.

"Accidentally" bought a few shares of Home Depot on Friday. Had the money sitting in the account waiting for a really down day to find some deals but just got bored and blew it. I was (and still am) watching HD, Lowes, Target, and Barrick Gold. Saw HD was down for the day and they have been going up almost without stop for as long as they have been traded so put in an order at $280/share...well about 10 minutes later I thought better about it and went to cancel the order only to see it had filled on a dip then went back up at the end of the day. Oh well, guess it's mine now.

Still I think the smart play is Barrick Gold. They have great margins on mining gold, have been popular lately in trading groups, and gold is on the rise. I might just quick sell out of HD if I can get my cost basis back and move into GOLD. Monday will tell.

It was part of a few puts I was doing. I thought the market was gonna slide again with the second covid wave. But yeah, I'm not doing that anymore. Another part of the why I lost so much on NIO and AMD was I kept averaging down, which im also done doing. I dont know enough yet to justify going for broke.

I wouldn't bet on it being a bubble at this point. It's a little bubbly but I think that's mostly tech sector dragging things upward. If you look at Industrials and consumer sectors they are not quite caught up. With hopes of a covid vaccine coming from Russia and advanced testing of vaccines here in the states I think this might be the last upcycle that we consider a bubble. It will most likely take off from here with a stunning recovery.

BTW I've learned NEVER bet against tech. Just don't do it. Also don't bet against Apple or Tesla specifically. AMD was definitely going to pull back after Intel's flop but not far enough to make it worth getting an OTM put on.

With each passing day my AMD put looks hopeless. Snapchat, Intel, and Microsoft all had price fluctuations this past week, so I played them with options and made out nicely. Also, SPG, Simons Property Group, releases a so-so earnings report and the stock goes up... I guess my lack of experience is showing. I just don't get the confidence with everything going on right now. Do you guys think this is a bubble?

I have almost 200 shares of ABR. It’s at 11.75-ish and looking at the SEP (18th) 12.50 calls they are .25/.35, so .30. If I did that each month that’s basically another div payment, but every month. It only works until it doesn’t, but my average is like 6.91, so it’s not like I would lose money if I got exercised. That .30 is all time decay, so even if it got close later on I could buy to close and still keep a little.

Granted, it might not always be .30 for the same play each time. ABR has had a nice run the last few weeks, so volatility is higher right now. If it was sideways the last few weeks, that .30 might be .10.

Russ, do you have any that you like?

That's a great strat too. I wanted to get up to 100 shares on a couple holdings so I could sell covered calls but ended up just diversifying into tech some more. Definitely looking into cash covered puts and covered calls in the future though.

Dividends are great but even at an 8-10% yield you can generally get that in a growth company in a pretty short window. I'm moving to diversify in lower dividend yield companies that have great growth trajectories.

If future me came back and gave me a 2020 almanac like in Back to the Future I’d call myself a liar.

The sports betting options would suck, but wow the market would be interesting.
