VIGAX, VFIAX, VSMAX, VTSAX, VSGAX, VIIIX, VIEIX
Me and Vanguard are tight.
It's not as convoluted as it looks.
VIGAX is the S&P 500 Growth fund, which is in my taxable account. Large cap for the lowest risk equities, focusing on faster growth and lower taxable distributions.
The rest are basically the same strategy executed across three retirement accounts--a core holding of either the S&P 500 or Total Stock Market Index, with a supplemental small/mid cap fund to capture higher expected growth in smaller companies. I just picked slightly different funds in each one because... Why not? And I get access to the last two institutional funds through work.

I believe (hope) this is only for those bought on margins. -
For non-yolo investments... I'd suggest the S&P 500 index funds. Vanguard and Fidelity are the way to go for the lowest cost. Fidelity is virtually no cost I think.
I hadn't played the day trader game in years... This GME thing was/is a fun distraction but slow and steady index funds are the way to go.Leave a comment:

I bought back in to AMC this morning and express. Lost my gains from BB the day before. Hoping things go straight up tomorrow morning

My bank account is not large enough to trade in the free market.
the GME event has been illuminating to say the least.Leave a comment:

Brokerages or the SEC could limit the market cap of stocks retail investors can invest in, limit margin for retail investors, limit options trades available, control/regulate online chatter....a whole host of things. If you knew how regulated retail investing already is compared to what instruments institutional investors have access to it would blow your mind.Leave a comment:

Yeah, the attention is very high... I don't know what sort of regulation they could impose..."Hedge funds, data companies tracking WallStreetBets' tickers closely - Business Insider" https://www.businessinsider.com/hedg...rt-yolo-2021-1Leave a comment:

I fear the Redditors have finally gotten the attention that's going to attract regulation from the SEC that your average retail investor will not like. But we shall see.Leave a comment:

In case anyone is wondering, Redditors on wallstreetbets refer to themselves, tongue-in-cheek, as "Retards" when they post about making ridiculous trades -
For sure, I’ll leave the investing to the pros. It’s fun to gamble on stuff you’ve heard of though.Leave a comment:

Pro tip: don't buy meme stocks but take advantage of the increased volatility to sell covered calls or cash secured puts against them for insane premiums right now. I sold 2x contracts of SPCE CSP's yesterday for $500 each a month out.Leave a comment:

I had a coworker talking about the Retards WSB chatter regarding GSE, BB, and a few others... so I made $46 on BB on 5 minutes, then lost $36 of it before my stop loss triggered.
Insane.
This is why I play value funds almost exclusively with money that really matters (i.e. 401k and Roth).Leave a comment:
