I’ve got a Spyder TL on its way to me from an eBay auction. If I remember correctly they have a red O-ring on the hammer and a white O-ring on one side of the valve. Where do I source those O-rings, and what size do I need?

The red ones are tricky to come by. I bought a bunch of HNBR o-rings online that worked well enough for the hammer, I don't remember off of the top of my head what size, but I'm sure one of the Spyder guys will chime in.

Didn't they just do that to make it easier to identify which way the valve was supposed to go marker? I've had a couple Spyders and replaced the o-rings using a big kit, but don't remember the specific size. I just matched it to one I and it seemed to work without issue.Comment

Many of the o-rings in most Spyders are just 015 o-rings. The valve uses a urethane 015 on the front, and a buna 015 in the rear. No real reason to use urethane on the valve, so just use 70 duro buna front and rear. The striker (hammer) is a 90 duro urethane 015 o-ring, which is basically a tank o-ring. Unless it's a fatty striker, then it's 016. You do want to use a 90 duro urethane o-ring on the striker as it has better resistance to abrasion and less friction.I can haz feedback?

I have a red o ring coming in the mail. I'll let you know the size when it comes in. A 015 tank oring fit on the striker perfectly, a 016 oring was to big.Comment

They are slightly over sized from Kingman - 14.28 mm for example.
I had some luck with Flasc Sniper O rings.

I've had good luck with these o-rings on slim striker Spyders. They also just happen to be red.

Spyder hammer o-rings are definitely not 90 duro. They are, at most, 70, if not even lower.
Azodin striker o-rings are identical to spyder hammer o-rings, they're pretty easy to source.Comment

I'm not so sure, but we do have some of the later run (they changed from red to brown in color) of the offical Kingman ORG001 o-rings at the field. If I remember I'll check one of them. The definitely are urethane, which does start to soften over time, so it's possible they started out harder. I know on the many Spyders I've worked on over the years, the original striker o-rings have softened up enough that many are just basically goo. -
So we actually sold out of the o-rings. Talking with a friend/fellow tech at the field, he agreed that they do (well, did) feel harder than a 70 duro o-ring. Which isn't very scientific, so nothing really answered. I still stand by using 90 duro urethane 015 o-rings, as I've had good luck with them over the years. That's my anecdote, and I'm sticking to it.
