but to the OP, I probobly made a hundred siphons at "Adventure Games" back in the 90s. We would take some microline (the 1000psi kind, not the lp tubing). It was the same line we used to repair 68-specials internal line. Then we would put CP fittings at both ends. One end would screw into the valve, and the other end would serve as a "weight" so that it can draw liquid regardless of orientation. You want the line as long as possible before the CP fitting hits the bottom. I'd also put a fat oring around the CP fitting so its not as noisy when it "clinks" the side

-The reference wasn't the actual pressure rating for the tubing. I don't think there even is such a thing as plastic 1/8" tubing good to 1K PSI.

What he meant was the rigid tubing meant for high pressure air out of the tank, not the softer tubing used, for example, on the front pneumatics of a 'Cocker. You want the stiff plastic, not the floppy polyurethane.

And the pressure rating is irrelevant- the tube is inside the tank. It has the same pressure both inside and outside the tube.

1/8” Teflon tubing and 2x 1/8”npt to 1/8”compression. Put some heat shrink on the dip end to quiet it down. The second fitting is just a weight.
the hard part is finding a valve that works. Many newer valves are press fit do you can’t screw the fitting in place if the plug. Also most newer valves have a chamber and hole in the threads that will bypass the tube. These won’t work as they suck gas through the chamber instead of liquid through the tube.

We still use CO2 here and I have to build siphon tanks. What are the fittings that we are supposed to use? Where is best place to get the fittings and hose in bulk?

I hate this kind of crap! especially after I bought new valves and fixed up a bunch of old tanks people keep giving me - I made anti siphons out of them but never paid attention to the hole and groove!

took one apart last night and sure enough - 2 holes and 2 grooves


so - I threaded and loctited 2 4-40 brass screws in the holes - very carefully. then burred them down to match the groove

since the groove is still there and I'm NOT loctiting the valves back in I still have a functioning vent in the event the valve starts unscrewing (knock on wood - I've never seen that happen and I make a nice red enamel stripe from the valve to the tank once installed)

this was actually quite easy to do, and also explained why liquid was still getting into my supposedly anti siphoned guns, especially when pointed down for a bit.

Years ago I took apart an old tank that came with an ancient Mega-Z I bought and it had a siphon tube made from what I think was autococker hose with a weight on one end. The tank was beyond expired so I never tested it to see if it worked.

It was probably Teflon, similar but more rigid. 99% of the dip tubes I’ve seen are that. I use hardline and set them up for the gun so idon’t have to hear ding ding ding when I run. But the hardline rings like a bell in my mega z.

Ok now I need to get some new siphons made I miss my damn zs.

I grabbed a pic of the hose last time I built a siphon setup for Meleager7.... the compression fittings should be easy enough to find either online or at a hardware store.
