Oh, the number of rental tanks I've dropped over the years is probably very high. I think I've had a few fiber wrapped tanks roll off of tables but never truly dropped them.
Dented bonnets like that are a true pain in the ass. It'll tear o-rings quite a bit more often. They can be bent back most of the time. I'd recommend trying that.

I've dropped a CO2 tank and damaged it in that fashion, although only about half as bad. Worked just fine after. I'm all about thread protectors and fill nipple covers.
You should be able to pound that damaged portion back into rough shape with a brass and/or steel punch, but the sealing surface is below that, so, as long as the o-ring isn't being pinched too much, you could probably get by doing nothing at all.“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” -Krishnamurti
